This place serves up some pretty decent burgers and fries. I would definitely say that thisis the place to go to when you want some old fashioned soda fountain burgers. My kids loves their food and I think it is a lot healthier that other fast food places. And it's close by so that we can walk there. Parking is pretty easy too if you're driving. This place has been in business with the sunset district for so many years, I can't even remember! We frequent this restaurant about once week.

This is a fabulous find, great hambugers, excellent steaks, good service. Five of us ate for $90.00! We all loved it. Don't tell anyone else.

Everytime I come back to SF for a visit I try to fit in a visit. Love their burgers. My nephews have been there with me several times. They remind me everytime we got to SF that we must get the great burgers. We always take the metro so we do not have to worry about parking.
Pros: inexpensive, great quality
Cons: parking

I've reviewed the other burger places and they just don't compare, unles you require fancy ambience. Bullshead do not have it, it has that old American feel. Comfortable!

If you are into burgers, this is the place. This hole in the wall burger joint serves one of the freshest, juiciest, burgers in the Bay Area. They also display their burgers so you know exactly what you're getting. I had a 1/2 lb burger with swiss cheese, bbq sauce, avacado, mushrooms, and onion rings. The fries that comes with it is also great. Hope you have a big mouth because these burgers are huge. Prices aren't bad too, only $7-$9 for burger and fries for a big eater. If you love burgers, this place is a must!!!
Pros: Burgers, Fries, Quality of Meat
Cons: Parking

Not the best decorated place around, but boy, do they serve some mean burgers! I ordered a sauteed mushroom and onion burger with swiss cheese, cooked medium-rare, and I devoured that baby! Unlike some tourist trap that snared me into forking over extra for fries, this place includes them with your burger. If you're worried about the quality of the beef, look no further than the meatcase that greets you as you enter. Talk about fresh. Only qualms I have are somewhat limted parking and they don't have milkshakes.
Pros: Best burgers in SF, Food comes fast

Honestly, I must say that I have spent the 23 years I have lived in California, searching for the best burger. I have lived in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego, and have ventured through every crack, crevase, steak house, burger stand, and gas stop, and the best burger BY FAR is at Bullshead Restaraunt (yes, it even beats Harris Ranch)!!!
Pros: Burgers, Steaks, Beer

Boy oh boy! The food here is awesome! Good burgers, steaks, and i love the salad bar buffet. The prices are reasonable. If you think about it, a meal at any fast food place is about $5-6 now. For about a dollar more, you get a freshly made, top-quality burger and thick fresh cut fries or homemade potato salad or coleslaw. They have veggieburgers, fishburgers, turkeyburgers, and even buffalo burgers! Try this place once, and most likely, you'll go back for more!

This is the place that I think of when I'm craving a badass burger. When I lived in SF we went there more than once a week, really had an addiction. What it lacks in ambience it makes up for in taste! The meat is 100% reall and fresh and you can pick your own cut if you wish from the display. The guy who cooks (or used to) is really nice and generous with the fries. Service is as good as it needs to be. Maybe not the place to take your first date, but definitley worth the trip to West Portal.
Pros: Taste, Freshness, Big Servings
Cons: Ambience, Difficult to park, Hours of operation
