Don't be deterred by the editorial review: this is not in a basement, it's right at street level. Over-designed chairs are awkward and goofy looking. Food was excellent: tasty, fresh, generous -- but certainly overpriced especially when compared to nearby Inner Sunset or Richmond restaurants. Dishes that should cost $6-$10 instead cost $9-$20, which is just absurd. Wine list was excellent, reasonable prices. Excellent non-Asian desserts too. Service was quick and helpful. I was drawn to this restaurant after a friend from Chinatown(Yau Hing Herbs) gave it a high rating for their wonderful food. With a few friends and their son(4), we dined on Shrimp Potstickers, Chix Satay, Shaking Beef, Red Snapper, Coconut Ice Cream W/ Fried Bananas and to Die For Spider Rolls. This Asian restaurant's pairings of dipping sauces and food makes me believe this chef has talent and wonderful palate! I was discouraged with service or the lack of it. The waitresses and kitchen forgot one dish and did not make any efforts to rectify this at all. How sad! Nevertheless, I would still go back. The Beer 33(Vietnamese) is crisp and has a clean finish. Three Seasons is a joy to have in the neighborhood. The atomsphere is lively and yet comfortable. The menu is extensive and every meal seems to have unique, rich flavors. The plates are small and meant to be shared. If you don't go too crazy, it won't be an expensive meal. The lamb kabobs are my favorite there. We've never made a reservation and seemed to get seated quickly. It is becoming a popular spot though, so that could change. I was recomended Three Seasons from a friend. It was a great recommendation. The setting is very nice, the serice was prompt and friendly, the food was presented very well, and most importantly the food tasted great. Three Seasons might not carry the same popularity as the Slanted Door but it is well deserving of the same notoriety. I will definitely return for another visit.
