FOOD WAS AVERAGE - AMBIANCE HORRID - SERVICE BAD GOOD-BYE LULU WE WILL NEVER BE BACK AGAIN. We made reservations at Lulu two months in advance. Its never been a great restaurant - but the atmosphere made this place a destination. So we made EARLY dinner plans - 7PM and arrived a half hour ahead for a cocktail at the bar When our receptionist came for us, she sat us at a table in an empty back room that was about 50 degrees. HORRIBLE atmosphere - looked like an empty army mess hall. The wait staff in the room was clearly made up of the left over bus-boy staff. Unattractive, did not speak English and had no clue how to serve a table. How about investing a few dollars in HEAT - FREEZING in there
Pros: FOOD WAS AVERAGE - AMBIANCE HORRID - SERVICE BAD GOOD-BYE LULU WE WILL NEVER BE BACK AGAIN.
Cons: Cold inside, bad service, room cant be anymore ugly

I recently attended a party at LuLu and was very disappointed.
The wait staff ignored our table and the service charge that is automatically added to the bill at the end was NOT worth the service provided.
Tables were dirty and the service did not flow.
Food was amazing but that faded away quickly when a bottle of red wine suddenly "vanished". On top of that, one of guests from out of town had their car broken into and as if that wasnt bad enough, had their suitcase stolen.
For the price and service provided, I would go elsewhere............
Pros: Food
Cons: parking, rude wait staff, overpriced

I've eaten here plenty of times and have almost always had at least a decent dinner so I'm going to chalk it up to an off night. But I was so disappointed. Before I say anything about the food I would like to note that the waitstaff - from hostess to bartender to server - were kind, friendly and swift. Now the food. First of all, my mother and I have frequented the restaurant over the years and were really looking forward to the grilled/fried/delicious artichoke hearts with aioli dipping sauce. They weren't available - off the menu for the time being. Mom orders the special for the night - Squab - and I was deciding between the quail and the pork. I opted for the fennel pork with OO mashed potatoes. Mom's was by far the better dish, but was still drowning in this carmelized bacon somethingorother sauce that dominated the plate. The second I saw my fennel pork plate I was disappointed. I could tell the slabs were dry and was confused by the random bone they had thrown on the plate. No seriously it was just this big rib type bone tossed in with the two too thick filets. Barbaric garnish perhaps? I cut in and noticed how the meat separated and knew it was dry city. Unseasoned, dry, practically tasteless and swimming in a watery cider type attempt at gravy. All sitting on top of enough mashed potatoes for a Thanksgiving serving which were also - watery, tasteless, unseasoned. I ate one of the filets and whatever bits of squab my mom put on my plate and scooped up a bit of the squab sauce with my potatoes to add some flavor. We enjoyed our wine and the fresh bread and dove into the brussel sprouts we ordered as a side. These were successful - perfect in fact. But I didn't come out to an $80 dinner for a few brussel sprouts. While the main plates were a loss we each discovered two new wines to add to our list, the Mt. Vernon Cab Franc and the only Italian Pinot Grigio they have on the menu. Both lovely. First thing mom said when we left was: "I think it's gone downhill."
Pros: Service, wine list
Cons: what happened to the food at this place?

We had lunch on an average Saturday afternoon with an uncrowded seating area. It took 45 minutes to get two sandwiches that while tasty had so few ingredients inside as to be laughable. We weren't laughing however. We asked the server to bring us the check and cancel the order. He made a listless excuse and asked if we would consider staying is he had the food on the table in less than two minutes. 10 minutes later we were served a thirteen dollar sandwich that had virtually no meat in it. Without exception, all of the other patrons who came in after us had ordered, been served and finished their meals. The server could have alerted us as to any problems with completing our order and perhaps offered an alternative. We also had to ask a different server to be bring us some bread. We were polite to the staff at all times, even though clearly agitated. Good food is only part of the dining experience. Good service enhances a good meal. Poor service leaves a sour taste. Make your own decision before dining at LuLu. You'll not find us there again.
Pros: The water was AOK
Cons: Poor communication between serving staff and kitchen

I go out on a regular basis from Thursday- Sunday nights. Finding a nice place to dine isn't always easy. Lulu's is the best restaurant that I've ever been to!! The service is more than prompt & the food is AWESOME. I ordered the goat cheese ravioli & it couldn't have been better. They also have a huge wine list- it's almost overwelming. Their drink menu is pretty good too <---try the mango drop, it's pretty yummy. Tha manager checked on us a couple times to make sure that everything was ok. It's just a very nice & professional atmosphere all together. I'd go back, I actually already have reservations for this weekend.

Once we were finished with dinner, Lulu's was anxious to have our open table and offered us after dinner drinks at Azie (their sister rest, also good).
I would definitely go back.
