My wife & I had dinner here last night celebrating our anniiversary. The view was spectacular and we were graced with a beautiful sunset. Food was certainly better than okay but just as certainly not superb. As previous reviews have mentioned, you're paying for the view here. We knew that going in; even so, $175 for 2, with no alcohol at all, seems a bit steep for a meal significantly less than stellar. The service also appeared to be iffy at best. Our service was okay but the tables near us had several issues throughout the evening that seemed to take an inordinate amount of time to resolve. I had the crab cake as an appetizer; pretty good but not the best I've had. My wife had the tuna tartare; she was very happy with it. My lamp chops were very nice & prepared just right. My wife had the prime rib; it was very rare as she wanted but she indicated there wasn't a lot of flavor to it. The tiramisu desert was wonderful. We also got the cheese & fruit platter to bring back to our room -- big mistake; it was by far the worst $16.00 dish I've ever had. Pros: the View Cons: prices for mediocre food

Having looked at all the negative comments, we were hesitant to come to this restaurant, but it was highly recommended by an airline attendant. So we came, with mixed expectations. We were overwhelmed by the view when we walked in!! We were prompted seated by the hostess at a window table. The service was very attentive, the staff was very friendly. The crabcake was superb, the salad with peaches was very refreshing, a nice summer item. The halibut was fresh, moist. The steak was cooked to perfection. After finding out it was our anniversary, the manager, Charlie, sent us a complimentary dessert. The tiramisu was just delicious. We highly recommend this hidden gem. I was very disappointed with this restaurant the first time I went, gave it a second chance, and it had not improved at all; they seem to think that, because people come for the view, they don't need to pay attention to anything else. The service is horrendous, which is the main reason I will not go there again. The waiters are not friendly or personable at all, and do not come around to check on you, refill water, see if you need anything, etc. It was difficult to get their attention, and when we did finally flag them down for another glass of wine, it took about 20 minutes and asking twice to get it. The food is mediocre-- tasty, but not imaginative, and nothing special. The atmosphere is nothing special, either-- no personality, not warm, needs serious updating. Sure, the view is great, but if that's what you're looking for, have dinner someplace else and get a view from the Starlight room, Coit Tower, or a myriad of other places. With the horrible service, cheesy atmosphere, and mediocre food, this place is not worth the price and certainly does not deserve your business. Pros: The view, IF you get a table by a window. I took my boyfriend to Cityscape because I had heard that the view was phenomenom. I made a reservation early in the day for the same night. We took bart; so that we didn't have to worry about parking, but later learned that Cityscape covers the parking fee. The atmosphere is very romantic with dim lights and an excellent view of San Francisco. Perfect if you want to have private converstaions. We were seated immediately upon arrival and were given our menus and hard bread. The bread looked like it had been sitting out for a while. The menu's were really small, plain and overly expensive. I ordered the chicken rosstiere: the chicken was very plain and the mashed patatoes were ehh-ok, my boyfriend ordered grilled angus steak with the frys and he said they were nothing out of the ordinary. As appetizers, we ordered the Apple salad and the lobster bisque. The salad was the only good thing and was not so expensive. All in all, the total was $95. i thought that the food lacked alot of flavor and the portions were small for the amount of money being spent. We pretty much paid for the view. If you want to impress someone special; this is the place, just keep in mind you are paying a large amount for it and not the food. Pros: View, Free Parking, Romantic Cons: Too expensive, plain food

It's nowhere near on par with any of the good restaurants of SF. There's no presentation quality in any of the offerings from the service to the flatware to the food itself. All of this is obvious before even reaching your table. The hosts are unprofessional. The decore is dated. The service is bus-boyish. The menus are average. The wine list is so-so. And the food... it's like you're eating good "room service" food. Believe the reviews which question the quality of food for the price... they're accurate. All you're paying for is the not-so-bad views. Pros: Parking, View Cons: Value, Quality of Food, Noise

This restaurant's location stays true to its win for "best view". We had dinner here and the service and view were spectacular. The desserts (my Tiramisu, and my fiance's creme brulee(3 flavors!!!) were fantastic. Great romantic night out, go before the sun sets (we went around 7:45p.m.) to see the city slowly awaken. Pros: THE VIEW, THE VIEW, THE VIEW Cons: Entrees left something to be desired for price, still worth THE VIEW:)

Recommend lamb chops, caviar, crab claws, shrimp, and good selection of desserts. Very pricey! Our party of 20 ended up in the $1300 range (tax & tip included). Nice experience. My girlfriend and I definitely enjoyed our dinner at Cityscape restaurant. The view of San Francisco is gorgeous, especially when the sun sets and city lights brightening as it gets darker. The setting of the restaurant is very relaxing and romantic. The quality and taste of food is delicious. Their Tiramisu is one of the best I've tasted. The service is average, but attentive to diner's requests and needs. The price of our dinner was worth every penny and would definitely go back again! It was a beautiful dinning experience for the both of us! Pros: Easy parking, beautiful view, quality and taste of food is GREAT Cons: Average service
