My husband and I went to the Steps of Rome upon recommendation. The staff was quick to seat us and very friendly. The food and wine were terrific. The service was excellent, keeping our bread basket filled and our glasses full. The atmosphere was fun and lively. The staff was beautiful and spoke in Italian. The restaurant was a bit cramped and hot due to the warm weather that day but overall we had a fantastic dining experience. Pros: Great Food!, Well-priced, Attentive staff Cons: Crowded, Hot

I was here on a Thursday night with my boyfriend. After 6 hours on airplane, we both wanted a good meal in a relaxed atmosphere with great service. Steps of Rome Trattoria was exactly it! The food was excellent. We had salad, guazzetto, fussili alle melanzane, and bucantini amatriciana. All the food was awesome. We did have a problem ordering a bottle of wine because they didn't receive their order in that day. It wasn't a problem but the manager insisted that we have a piece of tiramisu on the house. It was a great dessert and we were happy that we tried it. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting the city. It is also very inexpensive considering the area. Pros: inexpensive, great food, excellent service

The waiters kept packing more people in and moving tables around, with people arleady sitting in them!! Our table moved from the center of the room to off in the corner facing a wall. I am never coming back here. Cons: No parking, Bad Service, Bad Food

I have eaten at just about every italian restraunt in the area and between the incredible food and fun, upbeat atmosphere, this place beats them all. The staff is SO friendly and fun that they alone would be worth going there. I live in Santa Rosa (about 40 min. north) and often drive to San Francisco just to eat here and go back home. It's that good! Perfect 10 guys. P.S. Try the Rigatoni alla Norcina. It's awesome! Pros: Best Food In NB, Upbeat Atmosphere, Excellent wine list Cons: None Here!

Ever wanted to be whisked away to Italy? Also eat real Italian food, beeing welcomed by real Italians? I found it! I went out on a Friday night in North Beach with my boyfriend. This place was recomended to us by my friends for it's authentic food and atmosphere. It was packed! First of all I was surprised to be welcomed by real Italian hospitality. Inside it was cute and cozy, Italian music was playing. Manager and staff were realy sweet and made us feel welcomed and very much like in Italy. Our food was realy good.
