I was a little disappointed in the food... the halibut smells good but it is somewhat tasteless... I felt like the melon salad was a total rip off.... More

So, if you guys like seafood and like being surrounded by all kinds of sea life in fish tanks and want to have a classy place to eat, Farallon it is.
Awesome spot - can get a little stuffy cause it's in the financial district (450 Post St & Powell) but very classy with a good crowd - the servers really take care of you and will even make special accomodations for a birthday.
Totally would recommend it for a classy place for seafood lovers.

So over the top in price and food that was good, not great. Service was average. Requests for special preparation of my entree was frowned upon. Don't even think about bringing your kids as they claim to accomodate them, but don't. Upon ordering a $15 dinner salad that I said I would share with my child, they split the plate and charged us $21. My entree at $37 was the scallops, a big shock at the plate filled with endive and a couple of small slices of vegetables topped with THREE (I kid you not)silver dollar sized scallops. The only thing that was cool was the atmosphere. I would never dine there again.

So everyone was telling me how wonderful this place is with its underwater theme and cool decor. Ok, the theme was cool. And the food was fantastic. Our party of 5 all had different dishes and all were wonderful. However, our 9:00 reservation got us a seat at about 10:30, and then we proceeded to spend $400 after they comped a round of drinks. My suggestion, go to Mezze on Lakeshore in Oakland. The food is as good and it's half the price.
