Soon to be a hot spot get some now while it's still easy! Sat in the back room against the wall of wines. Small but well executed menu. Each dish was well thought out and prepared with top notch fresh ingredients. A couple of the highlights were sauteed porcini's with arugula, tuna and swordfish bruschetta, grilled ribeye with crashed potatoes and sauteed greens, and an outstanding cheese plate with cured grapes and walnuts. Service was non intrusive but professional and the ambience is elegant but comfortable with a slightly laid-back country note. The wine program here could very well end up being the strong suit. With over twenty wines by the glass all of wich are available in 1/2 litre and a bottle list of around 150 wines. Ninety per cent of the list is Italian and all significant regions are represented, including Southern Italy and the islands.
Pros: wine program, food well executed, ambience, service

What a change! From the outdated Speckmann's to Incanto, a breath of fresh air. This restaurant has a great atmosphere, great service, great food, and great wines. We ordered a very nice bottle of Brunello and the Sommelier performed a decanting ritual we've seen only in Italy. It felt like home agan.
Pros: friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, good food and wine
Cons: needs more art

We had such a wonderful experience dining in this new restaurant. The executive chef (rumor has it that he was trained at Chez Panisse and opened Square One with Joyce Goldstein) offers dishes that are as exquisite as the decor. The wines are extremely reasonably priced and their Italian sommelier gives excellent food and wine pairing suggestions. I would recommend this place to all foodies. A tip for those who want a more intimate quiet setting, ask for the Dante Room.
Pros: food, wine, ambience
Cons: parking

This restaraunt is a sad case. The work that went into creating a great atmosphere sure isn't the same work that went into creating the menu and the food. The restaurant offers very few dishes, and those that it does offer are done poorly. The service was slow and the food was just plain bad and poorly thought out. I had the spaghetti which was not al dente, but actually not completely cooked, and the other two people that I was with had the chicken and the pork osso buco. The meat dishes were incredibly fatty and lacked flavor. The food is priced to pay for the fancy decor and not the ingredients that went into the food.
Things may change after they've been open for awhile, but for now go to one of the many other great neighborhood restaurants like Miss Millies, Alice's, Alcatraces, Savor, Bacco, or Eric's.
Pros: nice atmoshphere
Cons: bad food, overpriced, boring menu

Went there on their 3rd day of being open. Atmosphere is great (it's hard to believe this used to be Speckmann's Deli!), but it is noisy and the tables for 2 are situated very close to one another. The food was good, but on the expensive side for the neighborhood. Not a lot of variety on the menu as far as appetizers and entrees. Our steaks were tasty and tender but be warned that med. rare = rare there. Service was great as well as the wine.
Not an over-the-top wonderful place but good and I'd venture back every so often.
Pros: good service, nice decor, nice presentation
Cons: noisy, tables too close, not enough on menu
