Kept meaning to stop by this restaurant located in my 'hood and finally did one Friday evening. Found out that they won the Best Wine List in America for the casual dining category. Pretty impressive for a neighborhood joint. The food, like the wine list, was just as impressive. I'll definitely come back.

Valentine's Day was perfect. Not only did we have a wonderful server, but the food was outstanding. My honey, the seafood connoisseur, claimed Incanto's sea bass was the best he's ever had. Our server was purely delightful in his knowledge of their mostly foreign wine list. He made our romantic night comfortable and elegant at the same time. We are definitely recommending Incanto to all of our friends. One more thing - on our way out the door (we were the last table to go), the manager caught us and shared the romantic tale of how the restaurant got it's name... and then bade us a Happy Valentine's Day. Absolutely unbeatable.....
Pros: exceptional service, amazing food, romantic atmosphere

I've visited at least a half dozen times, and can always count on an enjoyable experience from beginning to end. The food is obviously prepared with attention and care. Service is exceptional, especially when it comes to help with choosing wine. And the recently added tapestries are perfect, making the main dining room feel even warmer, while helping to soften the noise when the room is full. I've enjoyed the changes with the seasons and look forward to the menu's transition to Spring.
Pros: quality ingredients, friendly staff, great wines

I've been to Incanto a number of times and am always pleasantly surprised at the constant improvements to the menu. Our table shared the penne for our primo (don't know who wrote about the uncooked penne but they obviously don't know the concept of al dente) and it was cooked to perfection. I then ordered duck for my secondo and was equally satisfied. As usual, the wines that accompanied our dishes were outstanding.
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing

Went to dinner there with some friends and had a wonderful time! I had the duck leg with pears on a bed of cabbage that was so scrumptious I almost wanted another serving. The atmosphere is elegant yet so comfortable, we lost track of time and stayed for hours. Our server had the wonderful qualities of being both pleasant and knowledgeable. Overall a terrific experience!
Pros: Food, Service, Atmosphere
Cons: none

I got there a little early and decided to wait for my friends at the bar. I was greeted by the bartender with a warm smile and was soon discussing the merits of their intriguing wines by the glass list. I was soon compelled to order the "mystery flight" where I was introduced to three really good Italian wines. My friends finally came and we were seated in the smaller dining room. I ordered the chicken; my friends ordered the steak and the pork. We all shared our plates and agreed that we had found a great restaurant. I will definitely come back to Incanto!
Pros: wines, friendly staff, food

Went there with another couple and we loved it. The place had the buzz of a downtown joint right in the hood. Thats' nice because the commute is easier. Too bad there is no valet parking or something. Great wine list and knowledgeable servers. Excellent food. Not a cheap, quiet neghborhood place, but that's OK. Will shoot for reservations in the back room next time as it seems more intimate and quiet/private.
Pros: Unique Wine Choices, Custom Food Nightly, Nice Design/Feel
Cons: Noisy Out Front, Parking Tough

This is an update to a prior review I posted. I've now eaten at Incanto several times, and each time have been more impressed with the "total package." As some reviewers have noted, the menu does not offer an "ad infinitum" number of choices, which I feel is a plus - it is a thoughtful menu, and having tried a number of the appetizers and entrees, I have yet to be disappointed. The calibre of both preparation, presentation and service is top-notch. Having travelled a fair amount in Italy, this place comes closest to the best neighborhood trattoria/ristorante I've experienced there as anywhere I've eaten in this country. The noise level in the large dining room is louder than I like, but overall, the food, wine and service have more than compensated for this. Ask to be seated in the smaller dining room if you want a more subdued ambience.
Pros: fabulous food, good value, caring service

My boyfriend & I had dinner here recently. There was 1 veggie entree which didn't sound appetizing so I asked for substitutions. The waitress suggested the penned minus the meat which I went for. Needless to say, it was totally flavorless and completely unimaginative. Gross is a compliment to this pasta. The waitress finally came back after about 20 minutes and I told her how dissatisfied I was but she didn't offer any suggestions or apologize. She just said that that's the way it is minus the meat! I couldn't believe she recommended it & then admitted that she knew it would be disgusting. I was extremely unhappy. I won't even go into my boyfriends roasted chicken which was just as flavorless. I will never return and I have told everyone I know not to go to Incanto.and I
Pros: Good location
Cons: no vegetarian options, too expensive
