The Tadich Grill won't be on any top ten dining lists in SF, but is hard to go wrong with this SF classic. The confident and charming wait staff will not disappoint whether you choose to have appetizers and drinks at the bar or sit down for a meal (try the pot pie!). This was my great uncle Lou's favorite restaurant over 50 years ago and it still shines. The Tadich Grill is truly a worthy dining experience.

Not for the hipster crowd, the Tadich Grill is an old-fashioned, back to basics, excellent restaurant.
From the darling neon sign out front, to the elegant wood panelled interior, to the crusty but charming waiters in their white jackets, you'll feel as though you've stepped back in time, but here that's a good thing.
Stick with the basics and you can't go wrong. PS - no reservations here so go early or expect a long wait.

The Manager Rick is warm, welcoming and always makes you feel like you're the most important person in the room.
Great addition to the staff! Been going there for 30 years...now it's better than ever!
Pros: Food is exceptional, Warm and inviting Manager Rick

Althought this is one of the oldest SF restaurants, I suggest only order the crab salad or the petrale sole...but it is still worth a visit.
Pros: the bar and booths
Cons: the food

My family has been going there for 60 years or so . There was a 45 minute wait, expected and no where to wait, I had prime rib which could only be called poor roast beef in my book , it was tough and had the grizzle going through each of the 3 slices . My sister had curry crab and had so much curry it could have been calimari and you wouldn'y know the difference. Our second waiter was a punk right out of my Mission District days who seemed irritated we were still there for desert and when only one order was placed threw the plate in the middle of the table and even though no one asked threw 4 forks down as well and said "share it" sarcastically. I have had better Prime Rib at "Little Henrys" on Larkin street . Do yourself your pride and your wallet a favor and stay away from this institution .
Pros: same space
Cons: everything else
