Heard really good reviews about Mama's. I have been dying to try this place, but never had the chance until last Sunday. We waited about 30-40 mins before we were seated, but it's definitely worth the wait. Be sure to try their Monte Crise(?) Sandwich, you won't be disappointed. We also had crab egg Benedict on their special menu, and it was really good, lots of crab meat. It's real crab! French toast is a must. Omelet is okay. This is a great place for brunch on Sunday: free parking and Washington park is cross street. If you dont' like to wait, be there around 1:30ish, the line is shorter. They open from Tuesday to Sunday from 8am to 3pm.

  • Stick to the omelets at Mama's

Mama's is another good breakfast spot in San Francisco. Unfortunately, it can get a bit touristy inside, and the lines can stretch halfway down the street. It's a little more chic than most places I like to go to. As a tip, stick to the omelets. The pancakes, etc. just don't hit the spot as well. I also heard the Monte Crisco was pretty good, but also very bad for you.

The place is small and cozy. The staff are friendly. The food is worth the wait. Been there now and then when visiting SF. March 2005, visited 6 out of 7 days. Mondays closed :-(
Get there early = No lines. Don't miss it! Enjoy!
