I had a chance to go to this restaurant for a media dinner and have to say that the food was amazing.
Service was very good as well and we had dinner in one of the private rooms on the 2nd floor.

Came in the other night and the place was kinda quiet, as is the norm these days I guess. Too bad, the prix fixe is only $29.95 and you will be well fed. Had the split pea soup with ham, what a great soup for a cold rainy night. Then I got the Hoffman farms fried chicken....probably the best chicken I ever had, and I like chicken. Then finished with the apple and huckleberry crisp, all in all very satisfied. The wine list is pretty extensive and reasonably priced, with lots to choose from by the glass. Service is very friendly, and towards the end of my dinner the place started filling up, and it seemed like they were regulars. I will probably become one, too.
Pros: good prices, good vibe
Cons: none

Zazie's is always worth the wait. Brunch is so good, that I usually end up ordering multiple breakfast items out of pure indecision. The gingerbread pancakes with poached pears and lemon curd are to die for, and on the savory side, the range of poached eggs are cooked to perfection. Unlike most breakfast places that serve food you could cook in your kitchen (if only we all had the energy on a Saturday morning), Zazie's serves up food for a reasonable price that is beyond most people's cooking abilities. Perfectly balanced, fresh, and tasteful, this spot never ceases to satisfy the palate.

They have curly fries as well as seasoned fries, and a half order is huge. That was the perfect question to ask about Barneys. Question is was it for real?! Sure you don't work for them?!

I normally don't write reviews, but I had such a wonderful experience here, I just have to share.
I first heard of this place from a friend's recommendation, then I went and searched the net for reviews and all reviews were pointing to great. So I decided to book a reservation and ever since that dinner, I've haven't been able to stop thinking about how fabulous this restaurant was.
My boyfriend and I did the prix fixe wine dinner, which was $49 per person and you each get an appetizer, entree and dessert....BUT the best part is, they give you a list of about 10 wines that you can have glass after glass of. Our waitress would keep bringing us different glasses of wine before we finished the others. And they weren't cheap wines either, they tasted like they were about $10 or so bottles of wine. Oh, and their service was EXCELLENT as well. Food was very delicious, made perfectly.
You need to try this restaurant if you're in SF. Too bad I'm down in LA and I have yet to find a place like this...
Pros: Beyond great value for your money
Cons: None

Have been a long-customer. From the time you walk in till the time you leave you are treated special by the friendly staff and wait people. Starting with appetizers, the cream of the crop are PJ's famous crab cakes, Alligator eggs, fried calamari and many more; On "Bayou By the Bay NIghts" Cajun food is served along with lobster, crab and crawfish. It is wonderful. One of my favorite dishes on any night is trout cahoule. It is an open piece of trout served on a black skillet, smothered with shrimp and onions. It is to die for. For starters their clam chowder is one of the best I have tasted. When my brother recently had Caeser salad he was impressed when he was asked if he wanted it cut. He said it was the best Caeser he had. My brother is not a fish eater and loves their baby lamb chips, or the smoked ribs. For dessert there are many good ones to choose from. My favorite is the bread pudding. I have to make sure I save room. I highly recommend PJ's because no matter if you love seafood or don't you will be able to find a dish you will love. God on Wednedsay or Thursday nights and guest chef Michael Reese will give you jello shots and mardi gras beads. If your lucky he will give you one of his stuffed peppers as a starter. I can't wait till I go again.
Pros: friendly greeter, wait staff etc., great food and drink
Cons: parking can be difficult.

I am just laughing reading all the other reviews. I can see where some of them are coming from. First of all, this is my favorite thin-crust pizza place anywhere, bar none. (I also like Zachary's-type pizza, but that is a different category.) We are about to move to the 'burbs after almost 10 years living in SF, and this is on our list of restaurants to hi t one more time before we leave.
It is true that the servers don't waste time with saccharin smiles for fussy diners. This is mainly due to SF or Mission culture though. When waiters don't act like your robotic smiling servant in SF, that is part of the fun/challenge, if you appreciate that sort of thing. Cf. Paris or New York - totally the same thing. Enthuse about their unusual tattoo, that is sure to break the ice. Bring your young kid and you get smiles all around.
Also the comments about the expense are basically true... that's SF for you.
The point is the pizza, and it is awesome, with unusual, organic ingredients. A little corn meal dusted on the prep table so that the dough picks it up and it crisps on the bottom. There is always one meat special and one veggie special, you can't go wrong with those. Mmmm when it comes out piping hot, and you take a bite with a sip of the house merlot... killer.
This is an authentically SF place. A little expensive, a lot of character, interesting people working there, awesome food, which they are deservedly a little snobby about.
Pros: killer pizza, decent win list

Hi, my name is Emily and I am working with StreetSmart4kids to help spread the word about the Dine Out and Donate program happening now. On Citysearch, you can learn just about everything you need to know about a place, so I thought this would be the perfect way to let diners know that Isa is a proud participating restaurant in the Dine Out and Donate program. StreetSmart4kids' mission for the Dine Out and Donate program is to help raise support for the homeless/at-risk youth in our Bay Area. Now until November 16th, you will have the opportunity to support this cause when you dine at Isa--by simply including your donation with the check after your meal. For more information, ask your waitress at Isa.
