high pressure sales staff, you know the deal. equipment was ok, didn't have enough of some gear, etc. My main complaint would be the cleanliness of the amenities, the whirlpool, sauna & steam room is a joke. They need to cleaned sometime this decade...There is a Jamba Juice in the facility, which is cool for a little after workout boost. They should consider guest membership for out of towners..Overall not a bad experience, but inferior to many others..

Body of Work is the Pilates studio that gave me great results when no others could. They have flexible knowledgeable trainers that helped me reach MY goals at MY pace, not a cookie-cutter approach at all. They even helped me figure out what some of my goals were! Also, scheduling was a breeze because they have someone do it full time, not a trainer trying to return calls between sessions. The entire experience is no stress even to the free parking. I recommend this place to everyone from beginners to experts!
Pros: They care about you, Certified Trainers, Good Parking

Since purchasing my road bike here, I know consider myself a true bicyclist. The friendly staff has given me much advice that I use every time I ride, from how to rest my bike on the back wheel, to how to properly use my ULock to how to maintain my bike in peak condition. Thanks for everything, you guys and gals rule!

Got my bike tailor-fitted to my style: road commuting with occasional ventures into the coastal mountains. This is the shop I always go to for advice or just to chat about bikes in general. Great location right by Haight and
Golden Gate Park. Awesome selection!
Pros: Staff works their recommendations around your riding style.
Cons: Parking?

This is one of my favorite museums in SF. It has a good selection of Hindu and Budhhist artifacts. Also houses a good amount of Asian and Oriental arts, with rotating exhibits. If you want to visit one museum while in SF, do yourself a favor and come here.

we got certified here several years ago and our instructor was top notch. luckily we did not have to go to monterey to do the open water because we did it on vacation, but the classroom and pool work were good. our experiences in the store, however, have not been the greatest. we've purchased equipment over the last several years that we have not been happy with because the sales staff is somewhat unknowledgable. they need more equipment training to sell...
PROS: friendly staff
CONS: unknowledgeable on equipment

Barbary Coast Boxes is so named because the most notorious area of San Francisco was once refered to as the Barbary Coast. The items in this store are gifts and trinkets of nice quality. As the name would suggest, many of them are boxes.
So if you have a special gift to give, you may want to consider packaging it in a box from Barbary Coast Boxes, rather than traditional wrapping paper!
You'll likely find that the gifts in this store will appeal to women rather than men.

Great place to find reasonably priced shoes for the entire family. Most advertised items are in stock. You can also find sporting goods here also. Only drawback is there aren't enough sales people on the floor so you're left to hunt one down. Once you make contact, the staff is friendly and goes out of their way to be of customer assistance.
