I went there this morning and was pleasantly surprised by the unique breakfast items, the variety (vegan and vegetarian friendly) and the low prices. Omlettes, crepes, scrambles, etc. It was worth the 40 min ride from North Beach. I had the tofu crepe - smoked tofu with spring vegetables in a peanut sauce, potatoes, artichokes, and a fruit cup. My visiting brother had the vegetarian lasagna which came with vegetables, and an AMAZING Hungarian mushroom soup. It was a good thing we were going hiking in the park otherwise the large portions would've weighed us down. Our server was very good - polite, prompt, and friendly. Clearly All You Knead is a well-deserved popular neighborhood eatery. I'm definitely going back with other out-of-towners.
Pros: delicious food, wide variety, great value

More
Calling Amici's an "East Coast Pizzeria" is a complete misnomer, as there are two styles of pizza typically found on the East Coast. First off, you have New York pizza, typified by a thin crust that is foldable which is topped with a rich combination of tomato sauce and cheese. This can be found at Arinell, not Amici's. Amici's is trying to replicate, with some success, the pizza from New Haven, Connecticut.
When it comes to New Haven style pizza, there are some significant characteristics: the crust should be very thin, seasoned with olive oil and salt and should never get floppy. This base can be covered with chopped clams, olive oil and grated cheese or it can be covered with a little red sauce, mozzarella and some toppings. Not a mountain of toppings, but some sausage, pepperoni, peppers, onions, anchovies and other bits to enhance the flavor of the pizza. Shape isn't as important, nor is cutting it into symmetrical wedges... but color is, as the bottom should have areas of jet black char from the heat of the wood or coal fired brick oven, and the top of the pizza should blister from the heat anywhere where it is not covered with cheese. Is your mouth watering yet?
Amici's tries to replicate this, and in some ways they have: the cheese mix is pretty dead on, and the crust exhibits the sort of charring and blistering you would expect, though it isn't oiled and salted first, which makes it lose out a little on the flavor. For the past few months, I usually have Amici's delivered three times a month - and the pies are consistantly good, but nowhere as good as when you get it served hot at the restaurant.
Points off for their prices, the occasional delivery issue (getting a pie with the cheese all slid over to one side), and the piece of metal my wife unfortunately found in her chicken pesto pasta one time.

Thanks to the fans of Arinell Pizza! Here I was, craving good pizza and didn't know of any good places. I miss Pizzeria Uno's at Lombard. I loved their deep dish, cornmeal crust pizza. I Googled it, and now the closest location is in the East Bay.
Well, I got on the internet some more and found reviews of this place. Parking is always shaky in the city, but after circling a couple of times, lucked upon a spot. I walked in and proceded to eat like it was going out of style. I love their crust, the sauce was good and the service was phenomenal!
I will be going back to Arinell's, but first I'll make sure I have more room in my belly next time because it's that good!

Most bakeries, especially in SF, are populated by two kinds of people.
Tourists, or college kids in letters scribbling notes for their medical exams.
This place however, is different. It's a co-op, which means everyone makes money if the bakery does.
Not always the best system, but in this case it works great. This place makes the best baked goods around; even the pizza is awe-inspiring.
My girlfriend is a scone connoisseur; I've bought her those little floury, fruit filled, tea toddies from here to Hong Kong; literally. And by far, her favorites are from this bakery.
My only complaint would be the people on bicycles who make this their terminus after a trip through the park. Seriously people, you are hot, sweaty, and some of you just should NOT be wearing skin tight garments around the general public. That aside, if you manage to make it early enough, they have a great selection, and some chairs outside to scarf down all kinds of cool stuff while you sample coffee from the shop next door, along with "Sunset" culture. If I should leave you with any parting words, it would be these: don't eat the pizza on a date; or at least make sure your SO partakes as well. Nothing like going in for a good-bye smooch with lethal garlic-olive oil pizza breath. Ewww.
But seriously...totally great place. Go for it; you won't be disappointed.
Pros: They make flour, water, and aborted chicken fetuses into pure gastornomic goodness
Cons: Sweaty bicycle riders trying to jam the front door for that "totally necessary Carbo load"

This is one of our regular treats. The dinners are reasonable and the staff is excellent. This is also a great place to take kids. The staff will bring the children wads of pizza dough for play dough while you wait!

After my friend raving about the pizza, I had to try it for myself.. and let me just say, "heavenly".. My favorite was the prosciutto di parma, but the margherita w/ burrata was also very tasty. I also had the arugula & fennel salad, which I think had a touch of orange juice in the vinegrette, which made it burst in my mouth. And when you go, you MUST TRY the asparagus, egg & olivata appetizer. It's not enough to fill you up of course, but is so delicious!!
I thought it was a little funny too that there was a wait for the bar, but it wasn't that big of a deal and the food was worth any congestion near the entrance, etc.. The waitstaff was very friendly and made a point to say goodnight when we left.. All in all, I highly recommend it. Also, great date spot -
Pros: Attractive people, clean, candle-lit, great ambiance, EXCELLENT food
Cons: crowded
