Great store !!
I have to contradict the previous review, owner knows his business and just because he does not stock a fish unusual or rare, it does not take credit from him.
I spend quite sometime there always looking for something unusual, corals mainly. All fish are acclimated up to what I've seen, fresh or saltwater. most if not all of his customersreturn for the same reason, service and quality. He mightn not be a Marine Biologist but he keeps the place good. It's a small store so space is limited but if you ask for a Deltec or Tunze brand he will get it for you at a competitive price even that of mail order. I travel a lot in the San Francisco Bay area working for the local cable company and normally I stop at every single aquarium that crosses my way, from Aquarium Concepts (highly overpriced but good selection) in Dublin to the Lucky goldfish in SJ (low wholesale prices... no more to say)
Have an issue or question? Starting the hobby? Jumping from freshwater to a full blown reef aquarium?
Just talk to him, he will help you in any way possible; Chris along with the folks at Lucky Ocean aquarium have to be some of the best aquarists in the San Francisco Bay Area
Pros: service knowledge clean enviroment
Cons: limited space therefore variety of dry goods but he has plenty

This is a decent store. All of the typical varieties of freshwater fish were present and healthy, and the tanks looked clean. There were also marine aquaria. For the experienced freshwater fishkeeper, however, this store will offer nothing new. The shopkeeper, Chris, had never heard of "dario dario" (scarlet badis) and did not think hardness was an important water paramater!! There were no unusual species of tetra, and the guppies were of the basic "fancy" variety only. When I called him on not properly acclimating new fish to his tanks (while I was there, he just floated the bags and then dumped them in, no dripping or adding water slowly), he was very defensive. First he told me that 99.5% of his new fish survive acclimation, and then realizing that I wouldn't possibly believe that, he went on to explain at length how every single fishkeeper will have fish die sometimes no matter what. (True, but less often, in my experience, if the fish are properly acclimated.) Anyway, despite his not making a very cogent argument about why not to acclimate fish, I enjoyed my visit and would recommend the shop to anyone looking for basic fish or supplies. For others, I would recommend Ocean Aquarium on Cedar St. and AquaForest on Fillmore.
Pros: Clean tanks, decent quality fish, good selection
Cons: Only the usual freshwater fare (no exciting species), owner not aware of the importance of acclimating new fish slowly

This place is wonderful! Although they weren't opened sometimes for some reason, they were fabulous when they were open. They sell mainly fish products but also have other pet products at low prices that beat many other pet stores. Parking will be a breeze unless the street spots are all full, so come on down and do something good for your pets!

I love all their interesting items here. They have everything to keep your fishes healthy, happy, and alive. Plus, their items are fairly cheap. The area has lots of parking so you won't have to walk a lot. The employees are nice and know what they're talking about. They are happy to help customers. Will definitely go again when I need it.
