Dr. Vrouvas is great... thorough, friendly and he explains everything as he goes along so you know exactly what he's doing and why. He helped me find new contacts when my manufacturer decided to discontinue my lenses. He also encouraged me to buy some of the old lenses online which are still available though in dwindling supply. Some of the other optometrists I've had might have tried to sell me only new stuff, so I really appreciate him putting me (the patient) first!

Even though Dr. Chan's office is small and his selection of frames is limited... there are many positive points to be noted.
(1) He is a very patient man. Very willing to take the time to explain away all the questions you have in mind and does not mind repeating processes for your comfort.
(2) Although the styles of frames are limited in the office, Dr. Chan keeps a number of catalogues for each patient to review and even order trendy frames.
(3) Not expensive at all. Discounts are given to long time customers!
PROS: Comfortable atmosphere
CONS: Limited selection on frames in office

If you need a pair of stylish glasses, definitely check out City Optix. I've also been getting my eye exams there for the past 3 years and the resident optometrist is very nice. They have a wide selection of frames from a number of the top manufacturers and the staff is incredibly helpful. They're not afraid to have you try something new or give their honest opinion. They even went out of their way to adjust my old glasses that I didn't even buy from them.

A group of over a dozen well-trained, qualified ophthalmologists (general as well as specialists) in the California Pacific Medical Building. It is fairly easy to get an appointment since there are so many doctors. Tests can also be performed on site. Takes most insurances. Very busy office. Parking can be a problem.

I have been going to Eye Studio for around four years. The receptionists there are very impatient and not very polite. You have to wait a while to see the optometrist there. Even if you already have a prescription, they try to make you see their eye doctor. The glasses there are mostly tacky and not fashionable. There isn’t a lot of variety. The glasses I get there is never perfect. It is always too strong or too weak. I would switch places if I could find another place that accepts my insurance.
