One of my cousins was visiting from out of town. She has visited San Francisco numerous times and I wanted to take her somewhere where she has never been.I looked online and found the museum of Russian Culture. Since she is a history buff, I knew she would enjoy it. It was a wonderful place with many new things to learn about. I don't know much about Russian history, but the layout of the museum and all the guides around made it fun and interseting. It was a great new experience. the only downfall is the location, very hard to park. But there is public transportation that will make hings easier.

I have been to many openings in this gallery and am always impressed with the varied genre' of art they curate, and the artists are always of stellar quality. The wine bar offers a feeling of intimacy and the staff/owners are very chill. I would recommend this gallery to everyone wanting to check out the top notch gallery scene in SOMA.

I went to the National Japanese American Historical Society with my sister because she had to write a report for Japanese class. I found it kind of boring there because there were not too many exhibits. I did not see many people around, so I could not really find anyone to answer our questions. However, this place was helpful to my sister in writing her report.

Located n Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco. This place is good for younger kids, but the older ones seem to get bored quickly. One of our favorites is the two way mirror where popel are trying to touch their nose and dont realize until later in the museum tour that people can see them on the other side of the wall.

I just got the best high-lite and cut of my life, despite my poor communication skills. She was able to translate my sad description into a wonderful new look. Highly recommended. Great parking. Wine and Truffles- can't beat that! She said she gives free bang trims to her clients who schedule regularly- that my friends is a great deal for these days! Never had this great of an experience and at a reasonable cost.

I just love the art of Margaret Keane with her wide eyes beauties from babies to babes. This mesmerizing gallery of paintings is located across the street from Ghirardelli Square in San Francisco at 3040 Larkin Street (across from the Ghirardelli ice cream parlor). Most paintings are well into the thousands, but the gallery is worth a peek given how famous she is and how beautiful the art looks in person vs. online. The colors are vivid, her stroke is genius, the works are lovely. You can purchase reproduction prints and small repro paintings for a good price in the gallery, which is what I did - I brought back 2 repro paintings with me on my last vacation there in July 2001. You can learn more and the artist and her gallery online at: http://www.margaretkeane.com/

The San Francisco Cable Car museum on Mason is a cool place to bring your visiting friends. The price is right…the museum is actually free and has some cool exhibits. I learned a lot about the history and technology behind the cable system. It is definitely a cool place to check out.

We visited the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts one day which was the first Tuedsay of the month because that was their free admission day. There are no free parking available so we had to park at a garage a block away from the musuem. It is a very nice art museum featuring not only canvas or print art but also film and video. It was really crowded though probably because it was a free day.

The style and theme of artwork from foreign countries always grabs me by attention. A friend of mine introduced me to the Hourian Art Gallery in San Francisco and I was in love with all the talent stored in one place. They also had jewelry from various countries in Europe and the Middle East.
