Both of these science centers use activities and creative exhibits to explain science to kids in a fun way. I think the Exploratorium is the more successful - it tends to have more exhibits geared to teaching young children instead of just being fun for them to play with. It is larger, or at least seems that way, and in my dim childhood recollections has more demonstrations of the exhibits, where the Lawrence Hall of Science tends to rely on written information that kids are often not interested in perusing.

This is one of my favorite places in San Francisco. It's got everything I could ask for: San Francisco history, authentic local color, and big loud machines. Best of all: it's free!
You get to see the actual machines that are moving the cables that run for miles beneath the streets of the city, pulling the cable cars.
Definitely bring your guests from out of town to give them an only-in-San-Francisco experience. To get the whole experience, you should really travel there by cable car. The California Street car is usually tourist- and crowd-free. Leave your car someplace far away, take Muni or Bart to the Embarcadero station, then get on the cable car at the foot of California Street (at California and Market). Get off at Mason St., walk three blocks north, and you're there!

I love the saturaday classes that they offer to children. The children are able to make their own crafts. They have so much fun and learn to use their imagination. Then they can go lratn about all the different animals. My niece especially liked the rabbits, beacuse you can not see rabbits at the zoo. Overall, it was a great learning experience. Those Saturday classes are really the best.

One of the unreal places to visit and meet all the celebrities in one place. The Wax Museum have hundereds of wax made celebrities that look so real. I think the admission is a little bit expensive to see some waxed figures but I guess its worth the experience. Be careful because some kids did get freaked out with the horror figures.

The Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park is absolutely beautiful. We come here every time we are in town. The flowers and plants are gorgeous. It makes the perfect backdrop for pictures or plan a romantic picnic here. It is amazing that such a tranquil place is in the middle of one of the busiest cities I the world.

The last time I've been to this museum was maybe 1-2 years ago. I took my wife there to view a pottery exhibit. Most of the time, the museum offers a variety of interesting art from all over the world. Just beware that weekends are the most crowded days, and the lines can get dauntingly long. They apparently also offer reservations, so we'll definitely take advantage of this in the future.

I must agree with the other reviews. Very good food, service and ambiance is really nice to spend an afternoon with your girlfriend. The very best exhibits grace these doors and the food is just a dessert to all that candy.
I visited this place about 8 visits so far this year and really never a negative experience. Highly recommended!

This Museum is not just for children, but more so than adults. I have heard alot abot this musuem, but everything that I heard still did not do it justice. I was competely amazed. I did not want to leave until I went through the entire museum. l loved watching old commercials. And they had perfect seatings which really made you feel like a kid. Its very cheap and well worth spending a day there. It is a fascinating place

One of my cousins was visiting from out of town. She has visited San Francisco numerous times and I wanted to take her somewhere where she has never been.I looked online and found the museum of Russian Culture. Since she is a history buff, I knew she would enjoy it. It was a wonderful place with many new things to learn about. I don't know much about Russian history, but the layout of the museum and all the guides around made it fun and interseting. It was a great new experience. the only downfall is the location, very hard to park. But there is public transportation that will make hings easier.
