The last time I've been to this museum was maybe 1-2 years ago. I took my wife there to view a pottery exhibit. Most of the time, the museum offers a variety of interesting art from all over the world. Just beware that weekends are the most crowded days, and the lines can get dauntingly long. They apparently also offer reservations, so we'll definitely take advantage of this in the future.

This museum is absolutely gorgeous and the views from the museum are spectacular! The exhibits are always impressive. The only bad thing is that the lines can be really, really long.

I have been to the Legion of Honor several times and have really enjoyed it each and every time. Ive been to museums in Europe and this Fine Arts Museums collection and exhibits are the closest in comparison to any European collection as there is on the West Coast. Im not big on Modern Art so I dont understand why locals fuss over MOMA, for art you can actually admire the Legion is the place to visit.
Pros: Scenic Surroundings, Ample Parking, Free on Tuesdays
Cons: Closed on Mondays

A wonderful place to visit, with outstanding art displays not to mention the great view of the Golden Gate bridge from a part of the grounds. Well worth a visit

The setting and architecture of this museum are a huge part of the attraction here. The permanent collection isn't especially remarkable, and the exhibits often follow suit. However, the building itself, and the beautiful grounds are well worth a visit. The museum is nestled atop the high ocean cliffs just south of the Golden Gate Bridge, offering exquisite views of the bridge and the spectacular Marin Headlands to the north. The building was designed to replicate a specific French castle, of which I can't remember the name. I do know, however, that it is a beautiful building, with its marble tile, Roman columns and expansive courtyards. As I said, definitely worth a visit.
Pros: Architecture, Setting
Cons: Permanent Collection
