The Balboa Theater is a nice little movie theater, that offers a great variety of independent films. Most of these films probably wouldn't be shown on any other major movieplex, but if you look through it, you'll find a gem or two. The movie viewing area is small, but manageable, and they had offered 2 for the price of 1 viewings. the Balboa Theater doesn't try to compete against the major movieplex, but tries to carve out a niche for those who want to see a movie, but who don't want to be pestered about services, or commercial products. A very at ease theater to go to. Parking is pretty much non existent, but there's a couple of nice eateries around the area.

The Balboa is a small, independent theater that shows interesting movies. This theater was built in 1926. They sell discount cards -- 5 movies for $30 bucks which is a good deal. Students get a discount as well as senior citizens. There are great restaurants and cafes within walking distance of the Balboa. Try Bill's Place for a burger and milkshake after the show.
