I have been in therapy most of my life. I came to Lyora very reluctantly. I was fed up with all the talking and the very little progress I had made before. After all, history kept repeating itself and I really wanted a change... I just needed someone to help me make it.
Was I ever in for a surprise!
Lyora got me from day 1. And that is what distinguished her as my "life coach". Lyora asks very poignant questions and doesn't let me steer offtrack. She sends me off with homework that amplifies the progress we are making and guides me to understand what is and isn't working. Notice how I say we? That is because I truly feel she cares. It almost seems as though she gives herself homework between our sessions as well because she often comes in with a new angle on things.
Lyora is an incredible listener and has an uncanny ability of recalling things discussed in prior meetings, tying them into the present circumstance. If you want a custom therapist who will take your personality style and needs into consideration and not just give you pat answers and mumbo jumbo psycho babble, a therapist who doesn't want to drag things out so that she can keep you in her appointment book, a therapist who helps you look in the mirror and smile, look no further.
I feel very fortunate to have found her. I cherish the growth I have made. I only wish I had met her years ago.

San Francisco JCC has just been remodeled. Placed in a beautiful building on Presidio, it hosts planty of activities, such as preschools, gym, pool, classes. It has helped lots of emmigrants as well. Great great place.

This place is horrible. I called for my wife because we had to do a late stage abortion for medical reasons and the phone call went something like this.
THEM: Is the heart still beating, because if it is, you can't come here.
ME: It is.
THEM: What's your medical insurance?
ME: [Name of insurance]
THEM: We don't take them. It's $2000 cash, check or money order.
ME (I hung up).
This place is obviously only interested in making money, not in making this difficult process easier for their patients. DO NOT GO HERE.
