I have trained in several Martial Arts over ten years and this place is one of the best places to train and get a great workout. Very challenging, but non-competitive. They have several schools working out there including Taekwon Do, Hapkido, Kick Boxing, and Jujitsu.

A refined facility in the SOMA district of San Francisco, one can obtain one's fitness and mental health goals here. The school is clean, in good condition and equipped with reasonable city parking (hardly any meters nor street cleaning during class hours). The teachers are all very professional and caring, as are the students who are diligent in their martial arts education.

I first heard about this martial Arts Center from one of our members. She told me that the owner and master instructor was a British Guy. His name is Steve Rapport. She sent me the address and telephone number. I made contact with him and arranged to meet him at the center in San Francisco. Luckily I was going on vacation to S.F. We met and Steve showed me around the center. It is a great place with 3 rooms and a lot of equipment. Be a Martial Arts Black Belt I was very impressed with the setup and would strongly recommend it to anyone interested in learning Martial Arts.
Steve teaches Taekwondo, Hapkido and Kumdo,

Hwa Rang Kwon is a marital arts studio in the heart of SOMA run by Brit and ex-rock star photograher-turned-Tae Kwon Do Master Steve Rappaport. The studio features two workout spaces where Master Steve and other great instructors teach both kickboxing and Tae Kwon Do, offer personal training, yoga and workout equipment.
Master Steve is a lovely, humble and caring guy who will work you like a drill sergeant and then give you a hug. He's a stickler for form and movement and classes are small (6-10 people) so you get lots of thoughtful, individual attention and feedback.
Joining HRK is like getting a surrogate family. It's a true community, complete with occassional potlucks and other fun get togethers.
Definitely worth checking out!
