I've been going here for lunch probably every other week for the last six or seven years. The things that keep me coming back: Excellent staff, very attentive owners, and always good food. Ive never, ever had service that would rate even as average, it has always been exemplary. With all the lunch options in the financial district, the staff and owners at Mercedes seem to understand that attentive service, good food, and good value is what keeps people coming back. The place is always filled with regulars, and it gets busy at noon, especially on Fridays, but you never feel like the service suffers much, just the wait to be seated. Wish they served dinner, too. Ive taken literally a hundred people over the years and nobody has been disappointed. We have had them cater work parties and have been happy with the results, too. Pros: Service, Owners, Value
