For the gamer in the Bay Area who's looking to get into an old or new role playing game, look no farther than Gamescape. They have a huge selection of new games, as well as four (yes FOUR) bookshelves of nothing but used and out of print games! Their selection of first and second edition Dungeons and Dragons is limited, but sometimes you can find some real treasures there. I once saw a complete Talisman set (missing a Good/Evil card), including all the expansions for $50!!! Wow, I'm kicking myself for not buying it. So you never know what you'll find. The staff are not gamers as a rule, so don't expect a lot of helpful advice. But they have a big game table, and public restrooms.

My buddy suffered an unfortunate confluence of events where within the course of a few weeks he smashed all three of his girlfriend's hallowed smoking pieces. A bong and two pipes. Which, if you knew this girl, you'd understand the magnitude of this tragedy for her. Where does one go to fix such profound relationship rifts? Well, when just any bong won't do, head to Pipe Dreams, "Haight's original smoke shop" (not sure if this is true or not). The glass work they have on display here is ridiculous, nothing less than masterful. It's amazing to me that stoners can have their shit together so much that they can make stuff like this. Your sweetie pie will appreciate these special works of art that are even more special, because you can put yer weed - I mean tobacco - in it.

This smoke shop is not really a smoke shop, it is a small convenience store that carries a variety of basic necessities that we need during the day. Small little place that in the back counter wall is lined with a variety of smoke related stuff, cigars and lighters, but surround the outside of this small little shop is just snacks and small basics for those smokers, such as gum and candy and cold softdrinks. The guy is really nice but only friendly to a few.

this store is amazing. it has all the signed memorabilia imagineable. it has actors, sports figures and legeneds of all kind. i could spend the entire day here just admiring all the signed famous photos and baseballs and basketballs because i am a huge sports fan. if you are at pier 39, you should stop by this place.
