Each year over 100 volunteers provide an estimated 20,000 hours of practical, emotional and spiritual support to 150 individuals and their families as the face death from cancer, AIDS and other illnesses. The Zen Hospice Project operates on a model that transcends "charity work," by encouraging a mutually beneficial relationship between volunteers & people who are dying.

Dr. Zabek is a great, funny dentist who is very well educated, teaches at the dentistry school in san francisco and pays great attention to his patients. He uses the latest technology to make sure your experience is as comfortable as possible, and gives great attention to explaining and educating his patients. His office staff is wonderful - very friendly and great customer service, they will remember your name even if you've only gone once!

Dr. Kurtbay is the best optometrist I have ever gone to, in a lifetime of going to eye doctors. Every time I have gone there (past 5 years), he has operated the equipment himself - though I understand that sometimes an assistant will do some of the tests for him (like the one where you press a button every time you see a light -- to test your peripheral vision). He also offers a retina scan so you do not have to have your eyes dilated any more. This keeps a record of your retina on the computer -- then when you go back year after year he compares this year's scan to the last year's scan to check for any changes. In this way, any problems (like macular degeneration or other eye diseases) can be caught early on.
Dr. Kurtbay has always taken the time to make my prescription was right; when I could not decide whether I saw better with one prescription level or another, I was allowed to take tester contacts with me so I could try them out for 2 weeks you before I decided. In sum, I highly recommend Dr. Kurtbay.

This place is a great small yoga studio. There is a very relaxed atmosphere and there is no sense of competition here, which is good. The Monday night class with Karl Erb is really great for decompression and body work. I would highly recommend checking it out. Also, they offer a really wide variety of disciplines and teachers, you are bound to find one you like.

My favorite teacher is Viveka, just one of several, knowledgeable, patient people working at the Y.S.S.F. Friendly, uplifting atmosphere, lots of other activities going on in addition to yoga classed (like Sanskrit, Indian music concerts etc).

This surgeon has been in practice for many years. I was referred to him by another doctor. My visit went okay. I've noticed that his visits with the patients are rather quick. I needed to get a lab test done and I didn't appreciate that he contacted my a week later with the results after numerous calls to his office requesting the results. You can say that I truly didn't have the best experience.

I was referred here for something that got in my eye. This doctor is not one of the best doctors I've ever gone to. I didn't like his staff and had to wait over forty-five minutes to see the doctor. When I did see him, he wasn't a nice doctor at all. He made me feel like I shouldn't have gone in to see him. He didn't have a good bedside manner and I just didn't like him or his services.
