Having been to this restaurant on several occations, I was never really impressed by it's food. Compare to many other high end restaurants in the SF bay area, this restaurant's food is only above average. Presenation gets an A but the taste and quality of the ingredients only a B at best. (a piece of raw salmon on my appeitizer was way too old to be considered "sashimi" grad) If the chef can work on obtaining better quality ingredients, the restaurants might merit a higher rating. Service was professional but a bit cold according to the west coast standard. The kitchen needs to work on its timing, food often came out lukewarm. Perhaps it spend way too much time on plating or just poor kitchen management.

A great spot to go for a late evening dessert, Fleur de Lys provides the absolutely highest level of service, while not seeming overbearing. Waiters remain at a comfortable distance and are quick to respond to the slightest hint of a customer's need or want.
The food is extremely good, with the greatest attention to detail paid to each dish.
You certainly pay a premium for the food and service, and a dessert may be one of the best ways to sample the atmosphere and fine food without really breaking the bank.
