This place is great! Roger always rolls the best, most fresh fish you could ask for. They have ever-changing special rolls, all of them are mouth watering. And if you can't find exactly what you want, ask for it, and not only will they make it, they might just name it after you, and start carrying it on thier menu! Its a small place so make a reservation or come early, but if you can, get a seat at the bar and chat with the chef Roger - he'll make some great suggestions you have probably never tried! My favorite roll is the mighty masha - shrimp tempura on the inside with butterfish on the outside - it melts in your mouth!

Although the ambiance isn't as flashy as other sushi restaurants in the city, the sushi itself is the best! Very creative rolls and always, always fresh.

In all honesty, I thought Zuppa was one of the greatest meals I have ever had in my life. Starting from the ambiance and ending with the $$ on the bill. The prosciutto was phenomenal and the speck pizza was a perfect combination of flavors. The service was excellent. Our waitress recommended us the most delicious bottle of wine to compliment everything on the table. I highly recommend this place!!!
Pros: Pizza, ambience, wine
Cons: none

Zuni Cafe has been around soooo long, and yet it is still so very relevant as a culinary destination. We arrived on a Thursday night and the place was packed. It was around 8pm. We were given a table in a smaller room upstairs, not bad considering we had no reservations. The server was incredibly friendly and very attentive without being overbearing. He made great suggestions and did not become negative when my friend ordered two appetizers. My friend had the polenta with marscapone and a Caesar salad. I had the rabbit salad and the flat iron steak. We split a bottle of Qupe Petite Syrah. There were other items on the menu I wanted (the beat salad, the sole, etc), so you should be able to find a selection of items that will appeal to most tastes. This place has a very sort of New York feel to it. I love it. We will be back!

This place is so cute! The small space is really cozy, with low lighting, and the service is beyond friendly - you kind of feel like you're over at someone's house for dinner. A cheerful husband and wife team run Zoya, and they definitely always make you feel welcome. The menu is chock full of excellent, well-prepared dishes at reasonable prices. I had the butternut squash soup on my first visit - perfect on a rainy evening - and the pork chop, which was just plain yummy. And of course, we had to try the Bananas Foster for dessert (so rich!) Everything was delicious - up to and including the coffee. We had the same great experience on our second visit: perfectly cooked steak, delicious asparagus appetizer, excellent wine.
I love finding these little hidden gems...the only thing that made me sad was the fact that there were only two other couples in the whole restaurant on a Friday night. Don't be deterred by the fact that it's connected to a Day's Inn - this place is definitely worth a try!
(And as an aside, as a stickler for clean bathrooms, I only wish that my bathroom was as clean as theirs!)"

Zona Rosa is a small taco shop on the last block of Haight before you reach the park. Less of a sit-down restaurant, more of a taco stand. The inside of the restaurant is warm and brightly decorated, and the service is welcoming and friendly. Tacos are delicious and cheap.
