The Prim rib melted in my mouth. I heard about house of Prim rib from a friend so I decided to go with my family from out of town for a change. They had the best service and the food was mouth watering. My family said that they have never tasted prim rib like they did at the House Of Prim Rib... They told me every time they come back to see me they want to go to the HOUSE OF PRIM RIB....

We eat here all the time and the food is excellent! Best dishes are Patti Masla and Chicken Makhani. We pick up since their delivery service takes forever....but, it's well worth the drive across the City.

House of Prime Rib has been around forever. I love this restaurant for the prime rib. The sides are just as delicious and the food is consistently good. Reservations are a must unless you want to wait a couple of hours. Finally had their dessert and it was just okay. service is friendly...parking is tough...food is awesome!

I really liked the appetizer menu at this place, overall good experience I would highly recommend it.
We tried a red Baklavayan Wine, that was also sensational.

The food here is excellent. I recommend the ahi tuna starter. The wild mushroom bisque they offered before the meal and the pastry tray they offered after the meal were excellent too. I ate at One Market on the same trip and while the food there was very good, Gary Danko was much better. I think it deserves more than one Michelin star.
Pros: Excellent food

GD is, hands down, the best haute cuisine restaurant in Northern CA. (And yes, I've been to all of them.) The staff is fabulous, professional, knowledgeable and totally down to earth - not snooty at all - and seem genuinely happy to be part of your dining experience. The food is to die for, especially the fois gras (sorry if you're anti, but it's amazing), lobster anything, and the duck. You'll also notice that you and your guest(s) can have conversations at a normal speaking level, which is sometimes unusual for a 5-star restaurant (where you usually feel like you're talking in a library). In true SF color, the patrons that come to GD are welcomed from all different walks of life - wearing everything from suits down to jeans, older folks to 20-somethings - and we're all brought together in our mutual love and appreciation for impeccably tasting and prepared food. You MUST have the cheese course; the waitstaff is super knowledgeable about each cheese and they are eager to share their knowledge with you. The sommelier is genuine and even complimented us with a wine selection that was lower priced on the list, saying it was a great choice and one he often recommends; there was no looking down on us for choosing a lower priced wine and we really appreciated that! I'd say this is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, but actually, you'll want to go again and again. (And you know, you actually could, because GD is a great value for what you get, unlike such places that will insult you, like Michael Mina and The French Laundry.)

I've only been here once for an event on the rooftop and it was a rare warm night in the city. Great place for food and drinks. Mint mojitos were really good.
Pros: Great on a hot summer night.
Cons: none.

My husband and I took a day trip to San Francisco and Luna Park came highly recommended as a local spot with great food. I expected it to be crowded but I guess we beat the crowd. The food and service was great. I like the nice quaint at home feeling of the place. Our food was served fast and I had the best peach mojito ever. My husband liked his fried egg sandwich with bacon, avocado, cheddar, and arugula on sourdough bread so much that he's trying to duplicate it. It was a great experience. I would do it again and I'll recommend it to everyone.

Took a while to get reservations. After eating there, no wonder! Arrived early and sat at the bar. We are really picky on our wines and the bartender had great suggestions which we ended up with for dinner. Staff was excellent, friendly, very helpful. We had the Tuna Conserva Panzanella for starters (WOW), the Salsiccia Pizza, the Pasta Special with spring peas inside (very light)and a Chocolate Budino Tart recommended by our waitress (very light). Served as 3 courses shared by the two of us. Everything was amazing! When we got the bill, we could not believe how inexpensive for such great wine and food. Would definitely go back ...
Pros: Excellent food, excellent service
Cons: Never an open seat (except early at the bar)
