1. ... if the staff were either friendly or helpful. Instead, they cop an attitude and would not give a tour of facility, even though it was my first visit to that location.
2. ... if the televisions worked. Only half had stations listed to tune your radio to - but, nothing came through anyway. No one in the whole facility had any knowledge of how their TV system works.
3. ... if the cleaning staff didn't spray chemicals while you were changing.
4. ... if they would turn down their loud music so those of us with headphones could listen to ANYTHING else.
5. ... IF their sound system did not interfere with normal radio reception. I could neither listen to my radio program, NOR tune into their TV. All their signal did was send interference. It was a nightmare gym experience.

I have to say that personalized program at 24 Hour Fitness was not boring like most other programs that I have done. There were varied exercises each day of te week so I never got bored with the same routine. Also the exercises were things that I had never done before.
I could see results in a short period of time. I would recomend this program to anybody looking to get lean and strong...

This is a brilliant yoga studio where you are made to feel extremely welcome no matter what level you are at. The teachers are very considerate to beginners and will ensure that you know what to do and why you are doing specific moves. The studio is very well maintained and has a great ambiance.

i do not go here but my mom does and she says the quality and service of this place is great. the prices are a bit on the expensive side but she said that it is worth it because the teachers know what they are doing and help even though the most unflexible person loosen up and get healthier.

More
The San Francisco Tennis Club is one of the only indoor facilities in the city and certainly one of the largest. They also have courts on the roof, which are great if it's not too windy. All the courts were recently resurfaced. It's nice to be able to play whenever you want to rather than having to wait for public courts. The club has full fitness facilities as well, not to mention a restaurant and tennis pro shop. Tennis is the focus of the club, though, and there is plenty of it.

"I enrolled in my first session of BootCamp SF in August of 2005 and did it out of the need to jump start my stagnant attitude to life, depression, anxiety and negativity towards everything (yeah! not pretty but I admit it). I have not looked back ever since!
By December 2005, I went down from 205lbs to 186lbs, lost 2 inches off my waist, improved my 1 mile run time from 13.55 min. to 11.55 min. AND it has truly changed my life!
It's been a rite of passage in so many ways and is the best thing I could have ever done for myself!
I'm headed to the AIDs Ride this year, taking part in the 9/11 marathon and more. I've met people at BootCamp SF who are now good friends and I just completed my 2nd session, my first Extreme BootCamp SF week AND am starting my 3rd session April 3!
The trainers are superb, the workouts are intense and if you follow their food and nutrition you will notice the pounds drop off. They are strict but have a great sense of humor and everyone around you becomes like a little family that meets every morning to get together and work out. You feel like you're at the top of the world, you laugh with everyone else, everyone is supportive whatever your level of expertise and its a fun and proactive way to get in shape.
Cost? I've affored it easily with their great payment plan...it's worth it.
Take it, do it, finish it...it'll change your life!"

Global Yoga is ideal for a beginner or the super yoga master. I'm in no way a master and I'm flabby like the rest of America. This place is great, no yoga egos, free cookies & tea and right next to the train. In the heart of the Gay Community of the city of SF, but its not a "gay yoga center" at all. For all you guys (like me) who are intimidated by yoga women (who hate men), this is the ideal place.

I am a member of Club One in San Francisco and I wanted to share how much I love these clubs. First of all, these are no "gyms", they are "clubs" and they cater to anyone who wants great locations, clean facilities, amazing staff, and programs galore, to name a few. I chose the San Francisco network option as you get all of the city clubs, which are not very far apart, really, and I can take my pick depending on where I am that day. I have lost ten pounds of fat and gained muscle and my family and friends say I look amazing. Thanks to Club One I have the body I had back in the day! Who wouldn't want to share that?!?!

Body Tonic is a very peaceful place to be. It is located on Van Ness and Sutter and it has a very friendly environment, unlike most chain fitness gyms and clubs. They have a suana and showers in their locker rooms and they have a very peaceful setting for their stretch/yoga room. They also offer special dance and aerobic classes. It isn't too crowded here which is perfect and it's very clean.

Ok, The name is weird, but it's a fun place. This is a different type of yoga, the room is heated up to around 100 and you do the same yoga, and sweat alot! You better bring a big towel and your own yoga mat, or else you have to pay extra to rent one. Same with the lockers here, if you dont' have your own lock, then they charge you to use one. The receptionist isnt as nice or as informative as I thought, but the class is good, and it's a good way to clear your body and sweat! I dont' like that the class is right next to the big window, so anyone passing by can look in, but other then that, the concept itself is great and the class is a little impersonal, less one on one because it' is very very crowded
