Turo Turo is the kind of place you go to because you're a Filipino and are too lazy to cook your own darn dinner. The prices are excellent, which is one of the major reasons why. It's cheaper to get food to go here and shop for it at a store, cook it yourself, make a huge mess in the kitchen, and so on.
They usually have on offer all the Filipino basics as other Yelpers have already mentioned. Something they also offer is Balut. And what exactly is balut, you ask? According to Asia Food, it is "A speciality in the Philippines, these fertilised duck eggs are believed to be beneficial to pregnant women and men whose libido needs bolstering. Balut is eaten when the chick has formed."
I don't eat the duck part myself, just sip the soup that comes out of it, kinda like a boiled egg, but with flavored soup, and the yolk part of the egg too.
It's a heck of an experience to eat. Something young men do when they're drunk and dare each other to do it. Or if you grew up in the Philippines and this is simply the alternative to boiled egg.
Really great, homey service.

This bakery is a really cute and quanit little bakery. Its a very nice atompshere to go into and buy things and smell the fresh baked goods and look around. They have a good selection of different breads, muffins, donuts, pastries and cookies. The prices are all very good and the baked goods are all really really yummy and delicious. I'd definitely recommend- even if you're not in the neighborhood you should go out of your way to try this bakery.

Last night while trying to get home from work, the prop 8 protest had the streets at a standstill. I was trying my hardest to avoid the street blockage and when I realized there was no getting around it, I just parked my car and began to walk to find a place to grab a bite.
The first place I saw was Palencia. A quick view of their menu from the outside had me intrigued and my mouth watering. I had never had Filipino food before and our server/waiter was insightful and incredibly attentive. The decor in this place was perfect, it made me feel like I was somewhere very special without trying to hard, the artwork and ambiance is casual yet cool. Then to the food, everything was delish!
Be warned while I arrived early the place did quickly fill every table on a Friday night, I would def recommend a reservation, having flan for dessert, the shrimp small plate as an app and the kare kare for a main dish-you will not be disappointed. Fancy Filipino food you are my new favorite thing!
Pros: Such a great find, food, service and ambiance.
Cons: Def need to make a ressie.

Well, we tried this one a month ago. Sinigang for appetizer, adobo and sizzling sisig for the main course, the desert was leche flan and finish it off with turon and polvorons. Was very full after it, and all for $18 for 3 person. Not bad huh,
Pros: Best part was the turon!
Cons: ahhm, a piece of candy wrapper under the table.. =)
