The Dark Room Theater is very quaint. Smallish, but it makes for a great intimate experience. It's close to the BART, and there are a ton of palces to go before and/or after for food and drinks.
We saw Uphill Both Ways' newest show, "Fastest Slug in the West." It's is an incredible, edge of your seat laugh fest. The skits flow beautifully and the comedy is never-ending.
Colin has great expressions and Dave has amazing breadth. If I didn't know better, I'd think I was looking at part of the next "Who's line is it" crew...
Go to their site, or better yet, go to the the Dark Room Theatre at 2263 Mission St (@19th) every Friday at 10PM until Aug 4th. ( http://www.uphillbothways.com/ )
Just don't take their picture, you won't want to see what happens to them if you try...

The Darkroom is a little hole-in-the-wall Mission Theater that you might miss if you didn't know about it, but I'm telling you: get to know it. I recently saw a production of their original play about Emperor Norton and loved it so much, I went back the next weekend with a group of theater-snob friends in tow. They also loved it. The plays, long on heart and soul are staged in an intimate venue and suprisingly high production values for such a little place. Other recent productions incude Princess Bride - The Play and a stage version of the game and movie Clue.
Every Sunday at 8pm they feature "Bad Movie Night." Tickets are just $5 and include free popcorn.

The Dark Room is the new tenant of the much missed Mission Records shop. If the neighborhood couldn’t support the shop, we hope that they can support this worthy successor, a teeny-tiny theater that hosts underground art events – music, drama. Lots of alternative culture happenings, parties, so on. The folks who run the place are really friendly. When they first opened up, they gave me a tour of the place during the day. A very supportive resource for local performance.
