My wife and I went to quite a few places for tours before deciding on another place but this was one of our top 3 places that we were thinking of enrolling our child in. I like the fact that they had a lot of field trips and encouraged parents to participate in field trip chaperoning and school activites. The facility is clean and well lit and the kids all seemed happy and eager to learn. One plus is that they accepted kids that are 100% potty trained, so the pressure to fully potty train by 3 is avoided.

this school gets a lot of public funding from the govenment, which makes it a great school. there are enough supplies and teachers for students. the teachers there are wonderful and kids love it there. many of them go on to a good middle school after going to elementary school at alamo. what a surprise to find a great school in this district.

My friends recommended this place for my toddler and I scheduled a tour of the place. It was a wonderful place and what I've been looking for in a preschool. Knowledgeable, friendly staff who seems to care deeply for the development of each child. The facility is clean and well lit. They offer a fully integrated course that is based on a child's current skills and not based on age. Field trips are quite numerous and are educational/fun type trips. I can't wait until my child starts preschool here. But remember that you will need to apply early to get on their wait list as it's a very popular preschool.

i would say this place is average. i mean, they do their job and look after your kids, but that's about it. i see limited activities other than... well, free time. while i know my kid is safe there, i want him to do more recreational acttivies as well. i guess i would recommend this place simply because they look after your kids.

I have two cousins that attend this school. One is in the second grade, and the other is in the fourth. They both love it at Cesar Chavez. There is a pretty big focus on teaching kids both their primary language (if its not Engish) and English. My cousins also speak very well of their teachers. They love their teachers and actually enjoy going to school, and their parents like the teachers too.

Dedicated, passionate teachers; impressive facility; kids are immersed in Mandarin; my son has finished Kindergarden and my daughter one year of pre-school. After 1 year, both understand a lot of Mandarin and can speak a little; both sing songs in Mandarin. They look forward to going to school, and they don?t want to leave at the end of the day (which I think is a good sign). Many prospective parents worry that they don?t speak Mandarin. Don?t worry; only 10% of students have a parent who speaks Mandarin. Many prospective parents worry about the difficulty of parking. Don?t worry. There?s plenty of parking. It has never taken me more than 2 or 3 minutes to find a parking spot close to the school.

When my darling son was ready for kindnergarten I was thrilled to have a school right across the street from my home. Then I started to get disgruntled. How many worksheets can an elementary student due? After attending a potluck at the school of a friend's child, I decided to take a tour. I was thrilled. After nine long months on a waiting list my son was admitted to Creative Arts Charter School. Not part of the school district and primarily funded through grants and parental/community donations, we found a welcoming community. It is an art based curriculum, and we joke it is a bit of organized chaos. However, my son is excelling in subjects now that were causing him a lot of difficulty in the past. Something has clicked and he is able to really learn the basics through art including math. The school recently signed a lease so they will be in a different location starting at the end of the month by city hall. I urge any parents not satisfied with their child's school to give charter schools a peek.

Every now and then you'll hear someone crying because they don't want for Mom or Dad to leave them. These are preschoolers, it's expected. What I witnessed was singing, humming, laughing kids, playing together, discovering new foods, sharing stories, learning songs about practical subjects that will help then later on...month names, counting, what happens in nature to our compost, raising plants from seed, caring for each other. I'm very pleased. The parent community is wonderful and the director is working very hard to meet all the challenges we parents throw at her; because "our" children are special and we want the best for them. Talk with other parents. I think you will find our children are happy and love the community's environment.
