Graduates get accepted to top private schools in San Francisco, and almost all the parents miss MCH and think the quality was better at MCH.

ACT's Young Conservatory theater is not a summer camp or an after-school program, it's an intense (but still fun) program for serious young actors. The classes are all taught by seasoned professionals who specialize in working with young people, and students learn serious acting methods and skills.
I took classes at ACT almost a decade ago, and the skills that I learned - even though I no longer do theater - serve me to this day. I got voice training, scene analysis, physical acting and clowning and more.
Whether your child (age 9-19) just wants to have fun in the world of theater or is exploring the idea of a career in acting (or scriptwriting), this is a professional, respectful program and the benefits will stay with them no matter what course they choose to follow.

This nationally accredited university has had some great people graduate from this school and go on to bigger and better things. Definitely a school to look into if you're into art or art is your passion.

When my darling son was ready for kindnergarten I was thrilled to have a school right across the street from my home. Then I started to get disgruntled. How many worksheets can an elementary student due? After attending a potluck at the school of a friend's child, I decided to take a tour. I was thrilled. After nine long months on a waiting list my son was admitted to Creative Arts Charter School. Not part of the school district and primarily funded through grants and parental/community donations, we found a welcoming community. It is an art based curriculum, and we joke it is a bit of organized chaos. However, my son is excelling in subjects now that were causing him a lot of difficulty in the past. Something has clicked and he is able to really learn the basics through art including math. The school recently signed a lease so they will be in a different location starting at the end of the month by city hall. I urge any parents not satisfied with their child's school to give charter schools a peek.

I have been to at least 20 studios in SF of all shapes, sizes and styles of yoga. Yoga Flow is the best. From the minute you walk in, you can't help but smile. The classes are challenging without going overboard -- instructors are nice and knowledgeable. The best part is that the seem to know who they are and how they fit into the SF yoga community. What more can I say?
Oh wait -- there is one more thing ... for such a large amount of real estate in SF, the fees are surprisingly affordable.

Preschools are so hard to find nowadays with the long waiting lists not to mention raising concerns of society. The Ark Christian Preschool is a small privately owned preschool that provides personal attention to each of the children and has exceptional staff who take extremely good care of the kids. The teachers are not just doing their job, they truly and sincerely care for the kids. There is also a sister branch in the Richmond district called Star Light.

They carry the best baby toys, gear, books, and clothing. You can join for an annual fee and get a discount on classes and clothing. DayOne was founded by 2 lactation consultants. I highly recommend using DayOne for this service. They are very professional, honest, and supportive. If you are new to SF and have a baby, the support groups are a great way to meet other women with babies.

Sing Lee Laundry is the best Laundry place in town. They have lots of washers and dryers. The machines are not overpriced - $1 for a normal load of wash and $0.75 for a normal load in a dryer. There is also a person working there who will do the washing and folding for you - for a nominal fee.
Parking is also not terrible around the Sing Lee Laundry - you can usually find a place within 10 minutes of looking - but on foot is the best way to get to Sing Lee Laundry.

I have personally worked with 2 of them to scetch out the designs of my new home and the home turned out beautifully after it was finished.
