We went here on a Thursday night around 9:30pm, which is half price Sangria night, FYI. Our waiter, Morty, chose some great options! We recommend the Fondue!!! The olives are mild but delicious. We also had the Sea Bass, Short Ribs and Sliders, all which were delicious, but the Sea Bass was our favorite. All the portions were great size and we were even too stuffed for dessert. I could see how it would be crowed and too noisy on the weekends, but the food definitely makes this place worth visiting. We will be back. PS? watch out for the fondue gas.
Pros: Great food, great portions, Sangria on Thursday
Cons: Parking, valet is is expensive

I love this place. It has a wonderful homey atmosphere. Nothing beats the fireplaces and tarp ceiling on the second floor. You have to order the shorts ribs... the meat falls off the bone and melt in you mouth. Not only do they have great food, it's one of the few pet friendly restaurants. There is a semi outdoor seating area where you can dine with your furry friends. They even provide water bowls on the floor. How cute is that?

This is a true jewel among restaurants in SF! The Chef is a master of spices. The flavor of every dish was very well balanced but still had a nice exotic touch, very interesting for ones taste buds! The decoration on the ceiling and walls creates a very warm atmosphere. Staff is extremely attentative and friendly, they will explain everything to you, as there may be a few things that one may not be familiar with. Make sure you make a reservation. It is a must while in San Francisco!

Love the fact that they use sustainably farmed ingredients. My sister was telling me that they get their lamb from a CA farm whereas even Whole Foods imports their lamb from New Zealand.
I tried their basic Chicken dish last night and honestly did not have high expectations since that's typically a standard dish at most places. But it was actually the best thing we ordered -- expertly prepared and included some vegetables that were tasty and colorful.
Pros: high quality ingredients, solid execution

The Cheesecake factory lives up to it's name. Several choices of Cheesecake. And you get to look at all of them in the display case while you are waiting for a seat. This place is popular so be prepared to sign up, take your beeper and don't wander too far. I was able to get the beeper, go shopping for a pair of shoes at the men's Macys next block and return to Cheesecake factory in time to wait an additional half hour and it was not even busy dinner hour yet.
But I like the big portions of everything, like the burritios, and the mango madness drinks. Great desserts. Great salads and big too. The waitstaff is overworked but they are friendly. Also suggest sit outside when the whether is not too cold.
Pros: desserts, burgers, chicken, salad burritos
Cons: parking, waiting on line

We so enjoy eating at Bistro Aix. My latest pet peeve about SF restaurants is the inconsistency in preparing the basics, but this is never a problem here. Our favorites are the hamburgers, roast chicken, and thin crust pizza. We live in the neighborhood and Steve always makes us feel welcome, even when the place is mobbed. It can be crowded and the chairs on the patio are not that comfortable, but I always leave smiling (in part because the prices are so reasonable).

Ya Ya has to be the best kept gourmet secret in town! In a city with good food at every corner at every price range, Ya Ya is my new favorite restaurant, hands down! The food, best categorized as somewhere between Middle Eastern and Mediterranean with many dishes similar to Moroccan, is amazingly flavorful! Ya Ya is the only place that I've ever had hummus I like! Their phyllos, a savory pastry filled with meat or veggie, is the best I've had in the city?so much better than that other pretentious place - whose name begins with "A" - that claims it as their specialty! The staff and owner, Ya Ya, are so much nicer and attentive too! The best surprise is the bill - you'll be shocked at how reasonable it is! Worried about parking? No problem, you can park in front of the restaurant in their loading zone, or if it's taken, they have free validated parking a few blocks away! Atmosphere? This is no ?hole in the wall!? It?s tastefully decorated in warm hues with paintings of Mesopotamian. With it?s great food, romantic atmosphere, and friendly staff, Ya Ya is the perfect place to impress your date without going into debt!
Pros: Every dish is amazingly delicious! Great Value, friendly service, romantic atmosphere, FREE validated parking!
Cons: exotic creative flavors; don't come here if you're not ready to broaden your culinary horizon!

Our firm had a most glamorous and successful client appreciation reception at the Atrium. The most unusual aspect of the evening was the attentive, energetic, intelligent and personable service. I cannot praise this staff enough. Fine wines were graciously offered upon entry, and glasses tended by servers all night. We were a group of over 200, and noone had to go to the bar for wine service. For cocktail service, drinks were served cheerfully and without delay. Delicious and creative appetizer inventions (mushrooms stuffed with truffled wild mushrooms, dungeness crab topped with crab aioli stuffed into endive spears, silken ahi tuna with wasabi and ginger, hot smoked salmon pizzetta with melting goat cheese, etc.) were brought in unending succession, served with tact and grace. The sumptuous buffet was was continually refreshed and cooked with perfection. Last but not least, it is my opinion that this restaurant is breathtaking in its beauty. Extraordinary orchid varietals creatively potted abound, museum quality art hangs on walls that are artworks in themselves, palms, topiaries, fresh flowers, antique pieces, to name a few of the lovely touches, punctuate the contemporary design. The design of the dining room is split level, nice for our kind of event, with buffet and some tables and chairs on the upper level, beautiful black marble bar on maple flooring with oriental runners and large reception area on the lower. The glass room (atrium) with a scenic view of the world class Philip Johnson designed building and plaza was a lovely area for socializing, as was the reception area with bar. Our guests had another unusual benefit, the ability to go outside onto this spectacular plaza for further socializing and smoking, and to enjoy the city lights. I was the event organizer, and the stream of compliments from my colleagues who have said this was the best party they had ever been to, have been very nice to hear. I thank the Atrium staff for that.
Pros: I cannot praise this staff enough + gorgeous dining room and outdoor plaza
