I've been the venue for a couple concerts. Each time I really enjoyed attending. I like the fact you can feel close to the performers no matter where you stand. Plus, you have your pick of a number of vantage points, whether on the floor or on the balcony. Since the place has pictures of past performers all over, I could get a sense of the historical relevance of The Fillmore as a music venue. I'm looking forward to next time I go.
Pros: Historical, personal

I've eaten at many of the small mom and pop stores, and some in San Francisco. Some of my best experiences have been at Mr Pickles, A.G. Ferrari, Lunardi's, Piazza's, Lucca Deli, and others that escape my mind. This one is right up there with the best. I've eaten here more than 3 times and the sandwiches are always very good to awesome. Might depend on what sandwich you order if you feel you are not getting a good experience.
The salami here is perhaps the best in the state of California if not the west coast. It is so reknowned that you see Napa wineries selling Molinari's Salami as well as chains like Mollie Stone and Lunardi's. If you order a salami sandwich the salami itself is an experience, Their other meats, cheese, real sun dried tomatoes, and sourdough bread are also oustanding so I completely disagree that this place is overrated. Lots of people just don't understand a truly good sandwich experience. You slab a bunch of mustard and mayo on a dutch crunch roll, fill it up with pickles, onions, slice of tomato and half way decent piece of meat and they think they're in heaven. The special taste of the meats and ingredients at Molinari's is subtle, it's the little qualities that make it stand out from the pack.
My dad used to take me here when I was little and he'd buy me a pastrami sandwich and they always tasted so good. Now I'm 38 and they still taste awesome, although the menu has changed. You don't stay in business this long in the heart of North Beach and Chinatown by putting out mediocre quality. If it was mediocre everybody would know it and nobody would stand in line for 45 minutes. This place has character and all the food they sell has just as much.
I agree they could use some updates in their sanitation methods but to some people that's a make or break thing and it's probably why they got a bad review. To me, they are old school and I'm an old school person so it doesn't bother me. A little bacteria never hurt anybody.
Pros: Awesome sandwich experience! Especially the Salami
Cons: bit pricey, but this is SF, could wash hands more.

Ted's Market was my childhood corner store. I grew up with Ted himself always greeting me and the members of my family with a loud bass like "Bob" as he greeted my father, and handed me a coin for the gumball machine. His wife Penny was a beautiful woman with a kindness that was rare. David the son always such a nice guy.
Very customer oriented and just a reflection of his parents continues the tradition of catering the best sandwiches in Frisco.. If you have never been you gotta go, once you eat there you will be back!
Pros: Good Eats
Cons: Unfortunately I do not get down there to often

Tonight, I ordered a pizza for the first time from this restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised! It was only $14 for a large pizza and it was pretty good. I won't claim that it was the most amazing pizza ever, but it was definitely a great pizza for the price. Also a plus, it only took 25 minutes from phone call to delivery. Definitely my new pizza place.
Pros: Good Pizza, Super Cheap, Fastest Delivery Evah
Cons: Had a hard time, cutting the cheez

I discovered Mondo Caffe while in SF on business. Walked in for dinner one night and fell in love! I now go in for dinner every time I'm in town. The pizza is fantastic, and is the closest to what I had in Italy. Very fresh and flavorful, and the crust is delicious. The salads are great too. The desserts that we tried, the cheesecake and the tiramisu, were fantastic. The cheesecake is the best I've ever had. The cheesecake is made with ricotta and is very light.
They are also open for breakfast, but I've not been in there for that. I have been in for lunch, and although they don't have pizza at lunch, they have great sandwiches. The bread is very fresh and the sandwiches we've had were great.
The owner's name is Ettone, and he is always in the restaurant at dinner. He always asks how our food is, whether we need anything else, etc. Very personable. You can tell that he cares very much about the quality of your food and your dining experience. It shows in the service and in the food.
You won't find a better pizza in town. They are pretty busy at lunch, but not as busy at dinner.
Enjoy!
Pros: Pizza is the best in town. Not very busy at dinner time.
Cons: No pizza available at lunch.
