While it may look like chaos, this is a pretty well run operation that very efficiently washes your car (inside and out). It worth the time and hassle of washing your own car (unless of course you like doing it yourself). For the uninitiated, pull in, leave the car running, tell the attendant what kind of the wash you would like, go inside to pay (keep the receipt), and then wait for your car to come out of the tunnel. Once it does, a small army of people will wipe it down. When it's ready, hand the person your receipt and you're good to go.

Washing my car is a difficult task for me. I just don't have the time to sit and wash my car. So, I simply take my car to a car wash. Geary Car Wash is inexpensive and the people there are fast and they do a very detailed job. I usually neglect washing my car but I like when it's easy to have someone else wash it without costing my an arm and leg.

Feel like the high roller you are at Touchless. Hand your keys over and watch as a swarm of immigrants works over your dirty ride. They work super fast getting your car looking spiffy and smelling clean. Complimentary newspaper comes with the service, so kick back on a viewing bench and watch the action and feel so fortunate you can afford to have others clean your own crappy car.

The Tower Car wash does may be the best place to get your car washed in San Francisco. I think they do a quality job. However, I've had to wait 20 minutes on some days even when they are not busy. One time my car was ready but they never alerted me. There is an outside bench to wait and then there is a snack shop and a TV inside. Service is pretty good.

You wouldn't guess this place was a car wash unless you read the sign very closely. The Car WAsh area is a big square building where you move from one side to the next. (not a drive through car wash that is automated). This place is a little more detail. There is a lot of people working to hand dry the Car and they pay attention to all the little detail that most people would miss- cleaning the carpet of the car and vacumming all the seats and wiping down the cup holder (that area get sticky!!) and dashboard.
I really enjoy passing by here, because of the mural they have on the far wall (closer to sixth street) of how you can tell your dog is bulimic- very graphic (kind of funny). They also use that spot as a parking area, renting it out for all day parking.
