I hate to be influenced by prior reviews, but I accidentally saw what the last guy wrote about la boheme and I swear, it's exactly what I would've said. Well, probably not, but he says quirky and cozy, and those are as good as any two words I would have used to sum up the place. Check out the posters and art all over the place here and you'll understand. I like hanging out here because they make a mean Mexican hot chocolate and white hot chocolate (I'm not a coffee drink), and also lots of middle eastern plates and sandwiches. Everything fresh and good. And breakfast. And yet, even with all the food, it's still that free wi-fi, mission café format we've all grown to know and love.

I first stumbled into La Boheme because it was less than 2 blocks from my Mission District apartment and it had FREE WIRELESS. It quickly became my "office" and neighborhood hangout. The walls feature a rotating series of various pieces from local artists and on any given day you can find an eclectic mix of old men playing chess and sharing local gossip, students hitting the books and families enjoying a little midday treat. The cafe is family-run and includes a great selection of simple, yet tasty breakfast and lunch treats, coffee, pastries, even wine and beer.
