I've only been here once for an event on the rooftop and it was a rare warm night in the city. Great place for food and drinks. Mint mojitos were really good.
Pros: Great on a hot summer night.
Cons: none.

I travel to SF often on business, and usually entertain clients at dinner. So I worry about my restaurant choices. I'd heard some interesting comments about good things happening at the Grand Cafe, and decided to try it. It was a wonderful experience! The room is beatifully designed and interestng, whith it's high ceilings, and open kitchen. The food was authentic French Brasserie. I found the servers attentive, but not overbearing, Our waiter explained intricacies of the preparation on request, and made some great suggestions. All in all, a great experience, and the food was the star!. I'd eaten at Les Halles, in Paris, and this was as authentic but far more sophisticated. The charcuterie, the puree of cod potatoes and garlic, and the skate wing stand out in my memory, but everything was done to perfection. A great evening!
Pros: All aspects of restaurant service were there, food, service and decor
Cons: None that I found.

if you're stopping by true and ftc on haight, stop by stussy. they have a bunch of skateboarding clothing but also have a few nike sbs. the employees are friendly but their prices are stiff. they can have some good deals, but it's rare. it's a good place to stop by and just browse some of the over priced stussy merchandise. they did carry the nike stussy obviously, so that might make it a valuable store to cop them at.

You've seen their coffees in SF's finer cafes, you’ve heard the coffee snobs rave about the beans, now go to the source, the first place in North Beach to serve espresso back in the 1950's. A perfect hour equals a square of their tiramisu, a hot drink, and a table on the sidewalk. The heart and soul of North Beach…

Café Prague is the epitome of everything North Beach. (except for the Prague part, but what's in a name?). Drinks frothingly poured and steamed from gleaming brass machines, little tables to sit thigh-rubbingly close to your sweetie, old men at the bar sipping wine and conversing of the neighborhood, of the old days, gossip, who knows. I like being here, not just because Cafe Prague fits the stereotype (and I'm a sucker for places that get it right), but also, because the stereotype itself gets it right, which is why we were looking for it in the first place. Czech, Italian... what's the diff?

I first stumbled into La Boheme because it was less than 2 blocks from my Mission District apartment and it had FREE WIRELESS. It quickly became my "office" and neighborhood hangout. The walls feature a rotating series of various pieces from local artists and on any given day you can find an eclectic mix of old men playing chess and sharing local gossip, students hitting the books and families enjoying a little midday treat. The cafe is family-run and includes a great selection of simple, yet tasty breakfast and lunch treats, coffee, pastries, even wine and beer.

Bustling little cafe with great service and good food.
This little cafe provides a great place to take kids, with the out door deck for lunch, they can play while you eat and socialise.
The owners are very friendly and will know your name and recognise you by your second visit!
The food is good and they do a great slection of Irish food and chocolate, a great find for those ex-pats!
