I have seen Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables here. As long as you don't have nosebleed seats, the show is great. The sound quality is great and I really liked them.
Phantom was definitely my favorite. My mom and I went and we both were impressed with the quality of the effects and the sound.
There isn't a whole lot of parking in the vicinity, so if you end up going, go early because it may take some time to find somewhere to park, and it may be pricey.

i've seen this show several times over the course of several years. it never gets old. they change the script to keep up with the times and the cast is amazing. great date thing to do particularly because of location. dinner in the north beach and then off to a classic sf show! i'd say every two years is good!

Intersection is a venerable nonprofit arts organization.. Their little theater plays host to some of the best, independent performance before it garners wider recognition and grows beyond the confines of our humble Mission neighborhood. Their thing is actually helping artists incubate and develop, facilitating the resources to make a fully realized artistic vision a reality. I’m involved in their incubator program, which is where they sponsor you to help you get grants. Lots of nonprofits do fiscal sponsorship, but no place else provides assistance and guidance like Intersection. When you’re applying for a grant and the people handing out the money see it comes with support from Intersection, I think it really makes a difference.

I've put on a bunch of shows here and, if you can afford to rent out the space, this is an amazing theater to work in. There are plenty of seats to fill (over 200, I think), which personally, I think is just about the right size. Big enough to make some money if you can fill the seats, but not too big to be disconnected from the audience. Also, I like that the seats are on a steep slope, so every gets a great view. The stage is big with lots of lighting options, a great sound system that just got revamped, and extensive rigging which makes the place an ideal venue for any sort of aerial acts.

We had a leak and we hired them to find the source of it. While I won't know if they actually solved the problem until after the rainy season, I do know their inspector, Rod, was very professional and convinced me by flooding the trouble area that they've isolated the problem down to a single shingle. They're not cheap, but I felt like we were doing everything we could to ensure water didn't floor my living room mid-December.

The "Press" is an extremely successful Catholic publishing company, but it is run on a warm and friendly scale by all involved. Located in a small San Francisco neighborhood, they publish not only books but videos, magazines, audio cassettes, and compact discs. I find the quality of the publications is high and the selection is extensive! What makes it unique, however, is the spirit of all the employees. They are Spirit-filled and caring in their dealings with the public and each other. Plus...most of them, I think, have met the Pope!! A great source for religious materials of all kinds! http://www.ignatius.com/index.aspx?SID=1&

I got to see Stomp at the Golden Gate Theatre. I liked the arrangements here a lot more than at the Curran. The seats are comfortable and the place looks fairly new...at least newer than Curran...It's located in a pretty bad area, but the security people made it a priority to make sure we got back to our cars/BART safely as well as find us rides if we didn't. The place is really nice and cozy and a lot more spacious than the Curran. Just don't stick around after the show...Try to get home as fast as possible...or at least get out of the area as fast as possible

Project Artaud is a complex of performance spaces, art studios, living quarters, and other non-infrastructural elements, located in Potrero Hill. The people who live here run the project, and they're an important asset to artmaking, be it through fiscal sponsorship, tech and marketing support for shows in their space, and helping with general experience and advice. Traveling Jewish Theater, Noh Space, Artaud Theater all have innovative performance happening year round and are definitely worth checking out.

There is so much art in SF. If you're hip to one or two scenes, there are 30 more you have no idea even exist. Like, the avant Japanese performance community. Noh Space is the center of this scene. The Theater of Yugen company has been presenting performances for over 25 years, part of that time at their tiny black box theater, Noh Space. The shows I've seen here are always memorable, always pushing boundaries. Lots butoh and noh drama inspired dance, music, and theater, and other undefinables.
