A friend and I ate at this ice cream parlor this weekend. We had the earthquake sundae, shared it, and there was still so much we couldn't finish!
Definitely fun on a date. The long line to get in just enabled me to get to know my date more. The bar staff was pretty nice, and I enjoyed the ambience.
Nice place!

I came here to try out the ice cream and had a single scoop of the ghirardelli rocky road ice cream in a waffle cone. Loved it! It was a lot bigger than I expected. Prices are slightly higher, but expected since it's in a tourist area & the name of the place. I can't wait to go back to SF and try the other flavors!
Pros: Variety of choices

Ok, so if you want to see a quick mock up of how they used to make Ghirardelli Chocolate, then this is the place to go. I personally wanted to see the full tour. However, you can go wrong stopping here for either the ice cream or to pickup a bunch of squares to take home.

tourist trap, but totally worth it. we just wish they had some sort of museum like every other historic landmark in san francisco.

don't go here! talk about overpriced...i paid $8 for a banana split that was half-melted by the time i got it. if you want good, authentic san francisco ice cream, go to Swenson's up the street on Hyde, where the locals go. Ghirardelli has the worst service and is a complete rip-off. If you're ever in chicago, the ghiradelli there (right off michigan ave) is a much better experience!
Pros: historic san francisco landmark
Cons: total rip-off, bad service

I thought that the Ghirardelli ice cream was great. It was creamy and cold. The servers were nice and made sure that everything was clean, which is great for a clean freak like me.

The Ghiradelli factory is very good and a great tourist attraction of San Francisco. It's not as big or as exciting as I anticipated, but the sundaes and food are excellent!

Just walking into this store and taking a whif of all the swirling smells will make your mouth water. This is one of my favorite stores in the bay area. The location is excellent even though it can get crowded. But that is the beauty of this place, everyone wants to come and visit. They have excellent gift ideas, though some things are a bit pricy. But the taste is worth it.
