If I could give it no stars I would. Let me start the review by letting you all know that I've been going to Primo for years with my friends and co-workers. To the point where we recognized who I believe is the owner (Red-headed lady usually up front?) and vice versa. So like any other day, my friends and I were craving the infamous Snaps & Fries at Primo so we took the short walk from work and had a great lunch. Everything was very fulfilling until we left. The bill was about $58 for a lunch for four and my friend took the bill up front and gave them $60 and we walked out. Barely outside the door, the red headed lady up front came racing out asking us, Are you seriously only leaving a $2 tip? Little did she know we had already left $12 at the table. This was enough for me to say that I will NEVER frequent this restaurant EVER again. Before you call me unreasonable, or petty-Hear me out. I don't know if it was shock, but at first it didn't bother me. Then as I began to think about it more, I got MAD. I began thinking about all the OTHER ways she could have handled the situation. As a host/business owner, wouldn't your first inclination be to run out a say, Excuse me, you forgot your change.? Or ow about checking the table before you come running out and accusing us of being terrible tippers. And what if we DID tip them $2? What if the service was subpar and that IS what I decided to leave? (I used to barback/bartend so I understand how important tips are and even if the service is bad-I usually leave at least 15%) Lastly, it is not as if we've never been there, or that she doesn't recognize us, or that Primo was a weekly to bi-weekly lunch stop or dine out spot for us. All in all, I'm not sure what was going through her mind that day and she didn't even apologize to us after brash accusation of our tipping etiquette. Primo, your good food is not worth the bad t

I took the worthy journey to Primo Patio and enjoyed a wonderful exotic lunch! The sandwiches are filling and delicious; their ingredients are fresh and the outdoor patio transforms the "everyday city experience" to a "colorful Caribbean-themed world"! Prices are reasonable and that sauce they serve on the side (tastes like thousand island) is bloody delicious! Adios!

This is a fantastic place to eat at before heading over to watch the Giants play at AT&T Park. The jerk chicken is sooo good - especially with their amazing sauce! I've also tried a few of their appetizers - fried calamari, sweet potato fries, and fried fish - all were great, but left me too full to finish my jerk chicken!

Primo Patio is a super cool little joint! You wouldn't think it's much of a restaurant but just walk thru the narrow corridor, pass the kitchen and you step into a Jamaican patio! The food is plentiful. I especially enjoy the calamari plate. Comes loaded with rice and beans. Really filling... and really good!

This place is the bomb! The food was DELICIOUS and the service was very friendly. The Jerked Chicken served with cumin rice and black beans was really good and the seasoning is unique and flavorful. And the fried plantains- soooo good. The red snapper and shrimp tostadas are considered a "tapas" item but they were definitely big enough to be a full meal. Huge portions of shrimp, snapper, lettuce, salsa and cheese cover crispy corn tortillas, very fresh taste with a bit of a kick. Our waiter was a total comedian, he had us laughing throughout our meal, and the owner was super friendly. This place isn't very noticeable from the street, but when you walk in, you feel like you've left the city. You walk through a narrow pathway that leads to a cute back patio decorated with Caribbean wall hangings and decore. There are tons of menu items to choose from, and breakfast is served all day. Food and beer prices are very reasonable, which is hard to come by in the city. It's a great place to kick back with some friends, enjoy a $3 Anchor Steam and chow down on generous portions of Caribbean style food at great prices.
Pros: Outdoor seating, generous portions, fun ambience
Cons: parking

I've been eating at Primo Patio Cafe now for about 2 years. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed and the service is helpful and friendly. However, the main reason I continue going back is that the food is absolutely phenomenal! Group that together with prices I would happily pay double! This place is a total find and is a must before or after baseball games. I would love to explore some of the other items on the menu but I can't stay away from the Grilled Lamb Steak, Grilled Jerked Chicken or the tasty homemade salsa that is always so fresh!
Pros: Fresh and tasty food always! Great home made desserts!
Cons: Hours - Need to stay open longer.
