One of San Francisco's Best Hidden Treasures. The staff was very knowledgeble and suggested the right wine for the occasion. I also tried the sake cocktails and I thought that they were out of this world... and very creative. I highly recomend this Spot if if your looking for a good place to have quality wines and sake cocktails. Bacchus is a must!

I just moved to this area and I love this place. The bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly. The music is great -- unlike the stuff they play at other wine bars. Plus, everytime I come, I meet someone new.
It's like my home away from home.
Pros: great wine and good people
Cons: it gets really busy on Friday and Saturdays, which can be a positive or negative depending on your mood

I went there once and they had all this great make up and skin care, nice stull you would get at sephora. I think an online store went bust and they bought the inventory. But it was great. Now though, that all that stuff is gone, I never find any thing I want, even at a bargain price. So if I were you, I wouldn't go.

Urban Cellars is a great place if you are looking for some affordable but yet good wine. the owner is very friendly and will tell you more than you want to know about wine. He has a great sense of humor and a very good selection of wine from Europe to Napa. Check it out in the friendly neighborhood of Noe Valley.

This store is a great example of why we should patronize our local merchants and not the "WalMarts" of the world. You can get really personalized attention and wine/food pairing information. They get a very local clientele but you don't have to be old to get good service, you just have to be enthusiastic about wine and spirits. In addition to wine they have a good selection of sake, tequila, and scotch. No, it ain't BevMo, but you'll get alot more personalized service here.

This place looks really shady from the outside in large due to the low-brow sign that they have and their name "urban cellar." Don't let that fool you one bit. These guys are amazing and they have a tremendous selection of wines, cordials and beer. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and they give great suggestions. I don't have a chance to visit the store that often but every time I do, I always leave saying to myself "I have got to come back here soon" because it is so great.

If I were a wine aficionado, I would probably fall completely in lust with K&L, considering I can practically see it from my window. But I'm not a wino, I'm a self-avowed alkie. I like my distillates, and when it comes to fermented grape juice, my palate is just not that precise.
With that said, K&L has an amazing selection of whiskeys, including some scotch that I didn't think was being imported into the states.
While the staff is extremely knowledgable, all purchasing for spirits is handled from the Redwood City location, which means that when I need a special order, I need to contact the remote location, find the spirit buyer and make my request.
The selection is massive and the prices are more than fair... and the distillate section leans heavily towards scotch and irish whisky, which makes me very happy.
It probably deserves 5 stars, but having the whisky buyer stationed at another location knocks it down a point.

The husband was psyched that they were having a 5 cent wine sale. I saw the commercials on tv, and was under the impression that they only give you really, really crappy wines for the 5 cent deal. Apparently not. He bought a $200 bottle and the second one was 5 cents, and they didn't mark up the $200 bottle insanely either. He said it was pretty close to the normal retail value. That's a very good deal then. We'll be stocking up our rather sparse collection some more this weekend. I hope they're still having the sale at that time.
