Edo is a homey little joint to the side of the lower haight st, a colorful area to say the least. Staffed with a smiling bevy of hep cats who always manage to make me look good.. After having been going there for the last year i'd say its my salon. Usually the art on the walls is interesting and worth purchasing and the giant windows give great light. Average price but above average work.. Big up to Chri.

I've been using Bumble and Bumble hair products since moving back to the states, and Edo has been my source for shampoo since then, even though I was going to another salon until recently. However, when my regular stylist couldn't see me for four weeks because of a limited schedule, I decided it was time to change and gave Edo a call. Because of my extremely chaotic wavy hair, finding someone who can do a decent job is a challenge. Not only did the staff take time on the phone to find the right stylist, but I'm happy to say that they chose the right person for the job. She took her time to analyze my hair, find an appropriate cut and leave me with a fantastic style. Because my stylist has limited hours, I'm not listing her name here - but if you've got challenging wavy or curly hair, drop me a line and I'll pass her name along. The salon is bright and clean, and if you're a fan of Bumble and Bumble products, I highly recommend making an appointment.

Salon is bright and comfortable at the corner of Haight and Steiner...great for people watching while you get serviced.

I'm one of those people who goes from one hairdresser to the next and is never satisfied. Until I found Sante at Edo. I'm not going to rave about the place or the atmosphere ... I am often kept waiting for my appointment, and it doesn't seem to matter if I'm the first one scheduled or later in the day. But I am always so, so happy with my hair when I leave. Sante cuts my hair dry, which I think is the key piece here. She can actually see how my hair is going to look while she's working on it. I've had too may people cut my hair and then dry it, and then cut it again. I've taken in photos and she's able to explain how it will or won't work with my face and my hair texture. The price is right and the look is great.
