I would never see one of those and think, I can't eat there. The steak is great, the sides are great and it's a nice familiar location. We've been to the Washington DC location and really enjoyed it. It is one of those steak restaurants that you order your steak, then you order sides separately so it can get expensive, but it is good and you know what you're getting because it is a chain.
There aren't enough steakhouses that are consistently good and open before 5 pm!

Walking into Harry's Bar during the torrential rain this afternoon, I felt like I was walking into a frat-party, and that's not a good thing in my book.
Next to us was a group of men in their late 20s acting like they were in their late teens - hitting each other in the arm, commenting about their sexual conquests and loudly proclaiming that "they are so drunk", followed by group hi-fiving. I know, it's that bad.
To top it off, the Mojito one friend had was sub par as was my irish coffee. For the prices they charge, I expected much better.
Needless to say, I won't be back.

White curtains drape the wooden entrance, while champagne-themed artwork decorate the interior's exposed-brick walls. Dapperly dressed singles and couples representing several generations lounge on red-velvet couches (illuminated by candlelight), or mingle at the lengthy back bar. The Krug, an intimate downstairs space with white-stucco walls and low ceilings, features a second bar, additional seating and a red-felt pool table.
Nice place - very romantic and cozy. Perfect for a night out and just what we were looking for, relaxing and a great bar selection.

Between the cheesy dance emporiums and seedy bars of North Beach sits this decidedly simple little lounge. Open since the Prohibition era, Tony Niks maintains Atomic Age splendor--from the starburst clock mounted on the wood-paneled walls to the sleekly upholstered, curved banquettes lining the room. While the retro-cool look is circa 1949, the atmosphere is closer to 1989, as U2 is more likely than Frank Sinatra to get the clean-cut, 30-something crowd singing.

The hours of this place were perfect when we got into SF late on a Tuesday night. Plenty of time to go have an irish coffee. Ever since I had my first Irish Coffee at the airport Buena Vista Cafe, I've struggled to find one just as good. I haven't found one. I can't speak for the food, but the wooden panels behind the bar, the newspaper clippings on the wall, and the sweet lady who took our order all point to comfortable place to be. Though this is a tourist spot in a tourist area of the Marina, there were a lot of locals there this time in winter.
To sum up, our irish coffees were delicious as I remembered (my friend who doesn't like coffee or whiskey actually enjoyed it) and the service friendly!
