During a trip to San Francisco, we stayed at both the Westin and the Pan Pacific hotels. While the Pan Pacific had large bathrooms -- it included both a tub and a shower and phones in the bathrooms, we prefered the Westin for its location and great beds. The Pan Pacific was expensive and certainly not worth the price. If we were to visit again, we would look else. It is not a bad hotel by any stretch of the imagination, but there are better cheaper options.

The Nikko Hotel is one of the best hotels in the city because it is unique yet clean. The lobby is beautiful and luxurious though rooms are pretty small and the furniture is a tad outdated. The beds and the TV are small. There’s a fantastic gallery next to the lobby. The location is very convenient and there are always Japanese businessmen in the lobby.

well-located in the Haight-Ashbury area of town, Faz has an incredible atmosphere if you want to smoke a hookah with some friends, or just dine on their delicious Lebanese and Mediterranean food. tried the spiced wine, but avoid the beers. They're pretty gross. You can't smoke hookah during dinner time at dinner tables (due to space constrictions), but you can sit at the bar and order some tapas-style food, and just chill. a great getaway from the bitterly cold air of San Francisco.

Hilton San Francisco is strategically located near Union Square. Chinatown is only a 20 minutes walk from this hotel. The hotels has many rooms and their prices are always affordable. However if you are really sensitive to small sounds, this not a hotel to go! The rooms are designed really close apart that you can hear your neighbors and the rooms on top of you taking a shower or if they are washing their hands!!

very cute owner! i don't do much double takes but the owner, dressed in all black, was cute. food was alright. atmosphere with the dancing was very lively. there are better places in the city for morroccan food but this was okay too. the prices are comparable to the other places and definitely worth trying. i love morrocan entertainment so always looking for morrocan places to try.

This French bistro is OK, but for the price, I would rather go to Plouf next door, or to Le Central a block away, and for something a little fancier, Rue Lepic.

I've never stayed in Japantown, so this was a first. This is a basic 70s hotel that someone decided to try to dress up to be a Japanese hotel. So for instance, the room I stayed in had those Japanese window dressing and the bathroom is the Japanese style where there is no shower curtain, so you kind of make a mess everywhere when showering.
The room basically is a 3 star Radisson otherwise. The workout facility is OK and has a few machines.
It is right next to Japan town mall. Like most international districts, the best food and things are actually outside of the neighborhood now, but it is fun to walk around a little.]
The best thing is that it is cheap at $109 for the rack rate (good in San Francisco). Also, it has these fancy sleeper beds with adjustable hardness. I kind of like that.

While there is nothing special about Chevy's, it's a good standard Tex Mex meal when you really need one. I spent the day hanging out with my dad and we swung by SF Moma. Afterwards we were both jonesing for Tex Mex so we wandered down to Chevy's.
I had the Huevos Rancheros and the table-side guacamole. My dad had the tortilla soup and salad. The food was fine - filling and fresh - but nothing special.
I thought i was completely stupid that the waiters were wasting their time making the guac tableside. It was fine, but wasn't worth their two minutes of production time.
