The latest addition was a stove that the owner of Parkside went to the trouble to obtain with special features that made the whole experience kind of wonderful. This is a family business that my family has been using for years. It would seem that when the father retired, things went downhill. I took personal time off work, at my own expense, to be home for the delivery of a dryer. The delivery guy/the brother came to the house and realized that it was a two man job. He told me he would go back to the shop (pick up the dryer that he hadn't brought on the truck) and find someone to help him. The last thing he said to me was, I'll be back within the hour. He never came back, and I didn't even get a phone call. I called the next day to complain, and a very unapologetic sister said that he couldn't do the job alone, and furthermore he was sick. We agreed that as soon as he was well, he and his son would make a Saturday delivery. She said she would call me as soon as they could schedule one. When I called back 2 weeks later and complained that I had not heard anything from them, she again apologetically informed me that he couldn't do the job alone. When I pressed the issue I was told that he might not be able to do it at all. When I suggested that perhaps I should find someone else, she agreed. She highly recommended that I find someone else. Three weeks wasted, back to square one, told by the owner of the shop to go elsewhere. Insane.

Bought washer and dryer from them, they screwed up the order and it took over 2 weeks to fix. When they finally installed it late friday afternoon they were rude and in a rush to go home. There mother does the ordering and scheduling and not very accurately. If you have a smal, simple job they are probably better than larger more expensive companies.

When I called with a washing machine problem, the owner was in the office and pretty much called what it was over the phone. He came, and sure enough, he was right, and it was a very inexpensive repair. He found something else wrong with my machine while he was there (there was a nail stuck in the tub!) fixed it, and apologized that he would have to charge another 15 dollars or so for the second repair. I think his scheduling is a little iffy... he's a one man shop ... but he's worth waiting for.
