I saw a really great Japanese Tea Garden in Portland, and when I heard there was one in Golden Gate Park, I had to go. Wow, what a disappointment. It is a tourist spot, and it basically looks like someone's backyard. It was almost insulting, as a Japanese American, to see how bastardized this place is.

The Japanese Tea Garden is located in Golden Gate Park. It is very beautiful there, especially in the spring time. It's very relaxing to take a stroll around there. I love walking up and down the Japanese bridge next to the zen garden. Admission is also very cheap, only 3.50. It is definitely a great place to spend some time relaxing during the weekend.

The Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park is absolutely amazing. I actually couldn't believe such a beautiful place existed inside San Francisco. I went in the spring, when everything was blossoming. Aside from the flowers and plants, there are also Buddhist statues, a zen garden, and Japanese bridges. This is one of the best places to go and relax, and admission is only $3.50. In my opinion, you can't find a better way to spend that kind of money.
