I love this place, the service is excellent and so is the food. I also think its a great idea that they encourage kids on tuesday nights, and have a kids menu. It keeps less kids in the resteraunt on other nights. Even still this place is a joy to eat in, great drinks and wonderfull staff. Try the lamb, steak, salmon, or any of the specials. If you love fois grass then the pate plate is for you, it's my favorite.
Pros: Great service, Great food
Cons: None

What a break for Glen Park! One of the nicest and warmest restaurants in SF, and some of the most delicious 'comfort food' to be found in the City. Multi-levels, Kids Night Tuesdays, warm service and scrumptous offerings make this a real find. And the wine list is well rounded and compliments the food perfectly. Everytime I go, they have on offer some 'special' that is out of this world, market fresh and perfectly prepared.
Pros: Great food, great wines, great place for kids on Tuesdays
Cons: tucked away in Glen Park

I felt that I should write a review because I eat here so frequently. I've never had a bad meal or time at this place. The lamb sirloin is simply amazing. This is also the first place I found that carried Hangar One Vodka - locally made and in my opinion the best Vodka on the market. Aside from amazing food and great spirits the ambience and staff our outstanding as well. Go here and eat and drink!
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing

When we walked in, we were seated by a very overbearing woman. I was not impressed with the atmosphere or decor at all. The menu seemed very typical--meat, carbs, and a vegetable. I ordered lamb, which I never order because it is so often gamey, & I was impressed with the flavors of my dish. I tried some of my friend's pork chop and found that it was a nice, thick cut that was not dry. I thought the flavors migled perfectly. They did not over-season the dishes. I loved the simplicity of the ingredients. Cons: the service was a bit slow. Our food took about half an hour. Dessert was just so-so. Chocolate cake with ice cream or something similarly unmemorable. And I was bummed that for such an expensive place the coffee was so bad. I would go back here, but I won't be a regular.
Pros: food
Cons: coffee, atmosphere, prices

For starters the menu isn't too vegetarian friendly. They offer one black pesto ravioli dish (at the time anyways) and the rest of the dishes do include fish or meat. The small plate of macaroni and cheese was nice, not anything amazing. I barely finished my *modern* fish and chips of panko breaded catfish. That is partly my fault though I'd never had cat fish before and didn't know it was so fishy . Anyways their desserts where really what was enjoyable. I had a warm gingerbread bunt cake with pumpkin ice cream (I asked for extra pumpkin ice cream and they were happy to do so) and my boyfriend had the marble cake with blackberry cab sorbet. Both were very nice. So...my advice is skip the $70 dinner by going to the taquiera around the corner and hit up Chenery for dessert.

Food at Chenery Park is great, service is severely lacking. After being seated, we waited for approx. 20 min for wine after we had ordered....repeated requests for bread/butter were ignored...when we asked to order, waiter left our table and said he had to attend to another table first.....waiter would disappear in between courses for loooooooong periods of time....actually had to go downstairs to order dessert....also had to go downstairs to run the bill....and to get it to sign out. Great food, but a lot of work is needed in the service area. Would hate to see this place when it is slammed if this is how service is on a quiet night.
Cons: SERVICE, SERVICE, SERVICE

After prolonged wait, finally greeted at table by down-to-earth and very competent waitress. Eventually, busperson(?) arrived with a meager bread serving and a single portion of butter. Salad at $7.00 consisted of small portion of butter lettuce and some baby greens in a large bowl. We got up and self-fetched and served the pepper. The waitress noted the omission and apologized for the overshight. One of the owners came to the table and served the main course, also apologizing for the service lapses. Nice touch, but avoidable with better training of the large staff. The main course, by contrast, was more than adequate, well presented, and flavorful (pork loin for me; lamb for my companion) - both quite good. The wine list is broad, but generally overpriced at 3.5 to 4.0 of retail. The deserts were well presented, but like everything else, somewhat overpriced.
Pros: Good presentation, Main courses good
Cons: Overpriced, Service lapses, Can be noisy

Went here last week for my sisters wedding rehersal dinner (she got married at chenery house which is a cool place). We actually preordered so I have no idea what was on the menu. I got the chicken - figured how could you go wrong with that. Let me tell you, this was the most delicious chicken, so tender and moist and it came with mashed potatoes the were equally as tasty. The food made up for the horrible place I was sitting right at the top of the stairs. This seemed really more of a small group/ date place.
