Attention alert for: Sunrise Buffet 3860 Convoy St. San Diego, CA 92111 Ate here on christmas day for dinner, Noticed plates were not washed that cleanly. Had to bypass several plates before a clean one as found. Food look ok, nothing to rave about. Got home after meal and started to vomit and felt severe stomach pains and vomiting. Later Montezumas revenge with DIAREAHA , lots of it... found out it was due to food poisioning...from this place. Previous day - reheated food left-overs along with unclean eating dishes....Several in our family also incurred the same earlier in the morning and throughout the next day.... Other better choices... Do not eat here, bad news!

Food is mediocre, if you want a decent buffet go to East West in Miramar, Todai, Onami. The food here is poor at best, and the selection is small. The service was absolutely horrenous. We approached the greeter with a coupon from the Reader which she said they would honor even though it had expired a couple of days before. When the bill came, with a total that was considerably higher, we were told that the greeter did not speak sufficient English, and that the coupon would not be accepted. The coupon was stapled to the bill, and yet they still refused to accept it. I was very dissapointed that a business would treat a customer that way over something so trivial. We ended up having to pay the full price after the coupon was refused, in front of several customers - making the whole situation embarassing. As an Asian-American, it saddens me to think that this is the best we can do for customer service. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else! There are better deals on Convoy street where you can be treated right!

I personally really enjoy this place, though I know a lot of people who don't. I think the problem is , you can't come in with that high of expectations. dinner is about $11 per person. Considering the variety and amount of food you get, it is most definitely worth it. If you go to any other chinese restaurant, you order one dish and it's about $10. Here, you get tons of different foods, all for the same price as one dish. You definitely won't be robbed your money here. they are quite generous with the variety of chinese food. Also, the food is authentic! If you like seafood of vegetables, there is a lot of both. Fish, squid, shrimp galore. There is also a limited amount of seafood. Hihgly recommended for anyone who is hungry, craving a variety of chinese food, and isn't expecting top quality stuff.
