The San Diego airport is great, in that it truly is in the heart of downtown. No long drives into town like in some other metro area. You can even catch a city bus to take you to down town for just a few bucks. Terminal 1 is usually hectic because that is where Southwest is. Terminal 2 is newer and always has great art to look at. Also in terminal 2 you will find fun rocking chairs to hang out in while you wait for your plane. Everything is close at hand ... not a lot of walking. Food selections are ok at best.

Everything else has been talked about. I need to talk about the GREAT singers, I discovered, by accident. They sing and play the piano and take requests at the bar, at the Inn at the Park restaurant, inside the Park Manor Suites Hotel. They are simply amazing. Their voices are beautiful. They harmonize beautifully too. Their names are Andy and Nathan. They sing on Wednesday nights. They sang At Last and it is the first rendition of that song that I think would have impressed Etta James. There isn't even a charge to hear them sing. It is well worth your time to listen to their beautiful voices.

From the second we checked in to the second their shuttle dropped us of at the airport the Quality Inn staff was not only friendly and polite, but they were sincerely happy to help us. We are already planning our next trip to San Diego and will defiantly be staying at the Quality Inn Airport once more.

This was one of nicest hotels I had the luxury of staying at. For the price it wasn't that bad. I stayed for 2 nights and the second night I got it free. There was a mix up with my reservations and as a result they did not charge me for the second night.

We used this hotel for a meeting. We used their catering services also. The hotel is sitting at a bay area, which provides a beautiful view. The prices are very reasonable and their food is great. The meeting was a sucess.

I visited the W hotel for an art event. I had never been to the hotel prior but I'd only heard great things. I was impressed from the moment I walked in the front door!
The staff is very kind and cordial. The entire hotel is very modern and is a very happening scene. There are many young people lounging throughout the hotel in the lobby and if you make it up to the fabulous outside bar you won't be disappointed. Yes, the drinks are pricey but the ambiance is well worth it.
I had a great time both at the event and checking out the entire hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting San Diego.

Built in 1966, this Polynesian Hotel sits right next to the 8 freeway. Tons o Tiki to be found here, to many for me to count. Having 2 restaurants, Sushi Bar and a lounge. The Islands restaurant is located next to the lobby and is a Tiki haven. With Tiki's from the famous Outrigger and The Luau finding sanctuary here. A huge Moai serves as the lifeguard, sitting next to the swimming pool. Great location, literally minutes from the Zoo, Old Town, the beach, Shelter Island and Sea World

When I first moved to the area, I didn't have a vehicle and was impressed over and over again by the public transportation. The trolley is always on time, always. The cost is extremely low. You can pretty much get to where ever you need to go in San Diego with the trolley. If you take the bus in conjuction with the trolley, you can get a transfer pass so you don't have to pay multiple times through one trip. There are passes available at a discounted rate. The trolleys are always clean and frequently have officers that come on board for safety reasons. Make sure you know where to get off at and remember that some of the stops are not in the best neighborhoods, so be careful. The trolley also offers free rides on New Year's Eve to discourage drunk driving which I think is a great idea.

I stayed here recently for a business trip. My room was well stocked and very clean. The staff was amazing, accomodated my request and the breakfast and lobby areas were very neat and clean. The free internet hookup was a plus for me. There is also free wireless in the lobby area.
The staff gave some great recommendations for local restaurants, and even gave super directions to the 7-11 for something I needed to pick up.
The downside to this hotel is that the trains run right behind it. It can be noisy. If you are a sound sleeper, or trains do not bother you, this is an excellent place to stay. If the trains do bother you, front desk will give you earplugs. Ths hotel also does not have a gift shop or a restaurant, so if you want to pick up a book or magazine to read in the evening, you will have to go out. With all the great restaurants in this area, this hotel does not really need a restaurant.
Excellent place to stay if you are walking, Little Italy is very close, you can walk to the ocean, taxi's are plentiful.
