The Pacific Terrace Hotel in San Diego is my absolute favorite hotel in San Diego. It sits right on the beach in Pacific Beach. Even the non-view rooms have a lovely view of the ocean, you are just not directly in front of it. The rooms are beautiful; our bathroon was giant with lovely marble floors. Lots of extra lovely touches like thick cotton bath robes and nightly turn down service with chocolates on your pillow. Do plan on paying an extra $15 a night to use the sub-terrainean parking, otherwise parking can be difficult as this hotel does sit directly on the beach.

Went there recently for an over night bachlorette party. The food was just ok but the drinks and the atmosphere were great. The crowd was also great, very laid back and willing to tolerate a crowd of slightly drunk girls. Best surprise was the staff that totally condoned suitless bathing well after pool hours.

My husband and I stayed at Humphrey's on our wedding night. The room was really nice - very large and felt pretty secluded even though it was in the middle of the property. My friend decorated the room just before we arrived with candles and rose petals so when we arrived we were totally overhelmed. Check-in was easy (even in a swishy wedding dress) and so was check-out. We only stayed that night and didn't utilize all of the amenities they have to offer, so I can't comment on that.
My boss has stayed at the hotel after seeing concerts at Humphrey's and really enjoyed it as well. No complaints - plenty of accolades.

I hired Executve Towncar Service for an early morning Airport ride. They answered promptly and a Towncar was outside my apartment on time. The vehicle was clean, comfortable and the ride was relaxing. I will definitely do business with them again and will recommend to others. Thanks, - Paris Ruveno

Built in 1966, this Polynesian Hotel sits right next to the 8 freeway. Tons o Tiki to be found here, to many for me to count. Having 2 restaurants, Sushi Bar and a lounge. The Islands restaurant is located next to the lobby and is a Tiki haven. With Tiki's from the famous Outrigger and The Luau finding sanctuary here. A huge Moai serves as the lifeguard, sitting next to the swimming pool. Great location, literally minutes from the Zoo, Old Town, the beach, Shelter Island and Sea World.

if you want to stay at a luxury hotel, this is the place to stay! This hotel was soooo REASONABLE PRICED, it was not even funny, i was shocked at how much we got a Suite! Of course the Penthouse was waay Las Vegas pricing, but for an upgraded Suite compared to a regular room was FABULOUS! The hotel was recently renovated in the millions. The entry area was wooooo's and ahhhhh's.. it was Fabs! it was soo classy. The walk ways to the rooms were plush! My feet were in heaven! No joke. When we opened our room, it was dark wooden floors, marble everything, swanky furniture. Though there was some funky Art above the bed but everything else was spectacularus! Its right across from the Horton Plaza and about 5 blocks from the Gas Lamp. About half a mile to the Marina and Seaport Village. Everything is walkable. Bad thing is... THERE IS NO POOL!!! AND Customer service was awful in the conceirge area. They treated everyone as if they were better than them. No joke. Snobs times 1000. So if you can careless about the conceirge, then this is the place to stay for you! BTW, the hotel has two restaurants, pricey, yet tasty. :) Oh they don't have free internet either btw.
Pros: PRICE AND HOTEL
Cons: CUSTOMER SERVICE, NO POOL

My wife and I went to San Diego for a quiet romantic getaway. We loved the Marriott Gaslamp. The concergie level allowed us to snack up without travelling and shopping. The views from our room of the bay and city were magical. We would have liked a pool, but the rooftop lounge worked. And as always - no surprises from Marriott. Just good dependable service.
Pros: views, rooftop lounge, location
Cons: no pool
